Review: I purchased a book (in CD form) from this business, through the online bookseller [redacted]. I intended to buy a hardcover book but mistakenly ordered a CD version of the same book. I tried to locate the vendor but was unsuccessful. [redacted] was very helpful: they contacted Cold Books for me, and this vendor did email me back. They informed me that if I mailed the CD back with a Return Authorization Number (RAN) which they provided me, I would receive a full refund. I immediately mailed the CD back, and heard nothing for several weeks. When I emailed to check, the company informed me that unless I had a tracking number, they could not refund me for the returned produce. If I had known before I mailed it that this was required, I would have added tracking to the parcel. I have contacted that business about this, but they have refused to refund my money. The $21 doesn't make it worth it to pursue this further, but I think other customers should be aware of this business practice.Desired Settlement: I doubt that this vendor will refund my money, and I realize that it is not a Revdex.com accredited business. But I'd like it to be on file and included in the rating system. Thank you for your help.

Review: I ordered a new copy of the hard-bound book Modern Fortran Explained by [redacted] from [redacted] on June **. [redacted] used Cold Books to fulfill the order. My credit card was charged on June **. I paid for expedited shipping. I received an email from [redacted] on June ** that my order was being shipped by 'air' with an expected delivery date of June ** - June **. I had not received the book by July * and emailed [redacted] about that.

I received a response from [redacted] saying that they were looking into the matter, I also received a copy of an email from [redacted] to Cold Books requesting a direct response to my inquiry. I did not receive such a response. I notified [redacted] again on July * that I still had not received delivery. As of today (July *), I have not had any response from Cold Books or [redacted]. I have arranged with my credit card for a full refund, and notified both [redacted] and Cold Books about my cancellation. The Cold Books web site shows 2 copies of the book are available. After almost 2 weeks, I still do not have a copy.

MY complaint is against Cold Books as they are responsible for handling the order. I do not have any specific concerns about [redacted]; they can only rely on information provided to them by Cold Books.Desired Settlement: Give high focus to customers. Be responsive!
