Our repair order documents that the date the *** mower was brought in for service was on June 30th Based on our current work load the tech looked at the unit on July 15th The diagnosis was clear that the mower had been run without enough oil The customer purchased the mower
from *** *** not us We are only the authorized service center at this point The mower registration was never completed by the customer or *** *** So there was no warranty on the mower when we began the diagnosis I believe the customer has now registered the unit with *** but the warranty claim is still denied based on the unit being very low on oil The customer stated to us that he recently was showing his son how to change the oil and had the mower on it's side Having the mower on it's side is not the proper way to change or check the oil level It should only be on it's side to drain out the old oil.We are not ***, we are only an authorized service center We report the findings and facts to *** and they determine warranty approval or denial We even asked the customer details about the problem and if he saw any oil residue on the ground or on the mower He continued to say he saw no oil and just had the back fire noise We will continue to assist with this claim as needed The customer approved a $diagnostic fee when he dropped off the mower if it was not found to be a warranty issue We have additional time in the mower but will only be charging the customer $99.00.In regards to the estimate The replacement parts and labor to repair the mower are more than the original mower price This is common with many items These are the suggested retail prices from *** with no additional markup Additionally this mower has two pulleys The customer is assuming the pulley shown on the estimate is the main pulley that he left in working order. The customer can contact *** customer service directly to appeal the warranty decision Otherwise there is nothing else we can do to assist him We feel we have handled this repair according to policy and regret the two week time delay We do the best we can during our prime season

Review: 1 week after the motorcycle was purchased it lost all power in the middle of driving it. this caused the driver to get the bike along its side and damage all the outside of the bike. the bike was then taken back to the dealer being towed from Maryland out of our own pocket because Coleman's said they could not help us; where the dealer said it was our fault and that we had blown the CDI box. the manager that we spoke to you didn't want to listen to anything we had to say. he was just saying he knew exactly what the problem was and it was our fault which cannot be true. we knew it wasn't our fault because the bike was only jumped after it had already lost all power. after them not agreeing to cover anything under our 30 day warranty we paid out of pocket for a new CDI box replaced it and the same day it did the exact same thing and lost all power. We again went up to colemans where we were basically told it's our problem and they're no longer responsible for anything. We were also never offered the chance to buy an warranty the day we purchased the bike like we were supposed to be. We haven't even owned the bike for 30 days yet and they will take no responsibility for anything. Our bike has now been damaged and doesn't run at all because of the problem it had that they sold it to us with .Desired Settlement: I would either like a replacement bike that is worth the same value or I would like the bike paid off and a refund for the replacement parts and the towing that we had to pay.

Response:

This motorcycle was purchased as a used vehicle 9/24/13. Our used bikes are sold with a 30 day 50/50 warranty. Prior to sale this vehicle had been throughly test driven and checked out fine.

The customer returned the unit to our service dept. with the complaint of blown fuses and it caused him to crash. However it all started with a phone call to our sales manager and the information provided in the call compared to what was said to our service writer varied. The bike had been crashed and appeared to have been down more than once since there was damage on both sides. There was no indication that the blown fuses were to blame for any accident.
