I am writing in response to
complaint ID # [redacted]. Ms. [redacted] brought us her engine(completely
disassembled and out of the car) in 2013. We completely rebuilt the engine and
gave it back to her 11-06-2014, waiting on her to pay for it completely. We did
not install it, tune it, or touch the...

car itself in any way. First off, we do
not offer a warranty, expressed or implied, but we do stand behind our work if
it was our error. We strive to do quality, honest work, because in this
business your name is everything. Ms. [redacted] had someone install the engine in
the car after she picked it up from us, and as she stated, the check engine
light never went off and had problems with the spark plugs, and also the
dipstick concern is something her installer should  have caught. We do not
put oil in the engine when it leaves our shop, so they should have added the
correct quantity of oil and verified it was correct on the dipstick before they
gave the car back to her.   The spark plug problem is from the fuel
injection which is controlled by the computer, which in turn works off the
sensors. The rings she is referring to are the piston rings, which are on the
piston, inside the cylinder bore, and could not fall out. The rings are in
grooves on the pistons, which are attached to the connecting rod by the wrist
pins and wire locks, and the connecting rod is bolted to the crankshaft, there
is no way they could have ”fell straight out”. If the installer did not fix the
running issues and/or check the sensors, she’s lucky that it ran as long as it
did. If you consult anyone who rebuilds engines(not a mechanic who just
installs them), if the sensors or computer are bad, the engine will not last
long. That is because if the amount of fuel it receives is not correct it will
destroy even the best engine quickly. In this case it was not any fault of
ours. I told Ms. [redacted] I felt sorry for her, but we gave her a remanufactured
engine, we can’t control what happens from there. A good way to describe this
is  to compare this to a flower. You can go to the green house, buy the
healthiest, most beautiful plant there, if you take it home and plant it in
gravel, it will never live, it needs to be in the right environment to survive.
This is the same instance, an engine is only as good as the computers, sensors,
and other controlling items attached to it. Therefore, we will not be issuing a
refund to her.
