Review: On February 22, 2014, I purchased two new pictures to hang on my wall, each picture was $71.95. When I hung one of the pictures, immediately the wire on the back broke, the picture fell, and the glass shattered into pieces. I called Consigning Women to inform them the picture had a defected wire on the back, the sales associate that answered the telephone, asked me to hold, while I was holding, I heard the associate tell someone why I was calling, I also heard him say, " I can be hard core and tell her, all sales are final". When he came back to the phone, he stated, all sales are final, and there's nothing they could or would do. The sales associate was very rude and did not want to listen to what I was saying.Desired Settlement: I would like for Consigning Women to replace the picture I bought or a refund for the picture.
Business
Response:
Consigning Women's selling practices are straight forward and have been In effect for over 10 years. All items are sold "as is" and all sales are final. "All safes final" is posted at the point of sale and on each customer's receipt. Consigning Women goes to great extent to assess merchandise for flaws and note Imperfections on tags for customers to take into account before purchasing. The item in dispute was a new item, had cardboard protectors on the corners from the manufacturer and been hung in different spots around the store for display; although when the customer viewed this Item it was propped on a shelf.
The sales associate that listened to this customer's complaint on the phone was correct to say that "all sales are final". Unfortunately, it was conveyed in a curt manner and for that I apologize. Our staff should have handled this properly as they are all trained in how to handle these matters professionally and amiably.
Consigning Women will make a one-time exception and refund this customer for the broken Item in dispute. The customer needs to present both the damaged item and receipt by April 1, 2014, to receive a refund of $76.99 (71.95 + 5.04 sales tax).
Sincerely
