Creative Solutions Marketing, Inc is nothing but a scam to get your Credit Card Information. I got a call from (325) 307-5825 (A Texas area code, while I live in California) while at work. My phone rang once and that was it. I called the number back and the recording was as follows:
“Hi this was Lisa with reward redemption. You’ve recently visited one of our affiliate websites and in appreciation we have a 100 dollar rebate card for you redeemable at popular stores. Press 1 if you would like to redeem your 100 dollar rebate card or press 2 if you would like to be placed on our do not call list.”
I pressed 1 and the first person that answered asked for my name and number. I advised they had called me, so they should have that information. She then hung up on me.
I called (325) 307-5825 again and again was asked for my name and phone number. I declined and was advised that due to security reasons she could not see my information.
I called (325) 307-5825 a third time and spoke with Nick B. (Employee ID XXXXXXX). I gave a false name and false number and Nick went to work trying to convince me to give him a credit card. He advised the cost was for shipping and handling of a $100 rebate card, a $40 gas coupon (“Good at any gas station”) and an Internet coupon book. He could not (or would not) tell me how Creative Solutions Marketing, Inc got my phone number or What retailers they work with, but kept plugging away trying to convince me to give him a Credit Card Number. After a 12 minute call, I now know that Nick is a family man going to a University in Clearwater FL. I let him talk for a while longer before finally telling him I wasn’t giving up my Credit Card number. Ever the salesman, he gave me his employee number and said that if I do change my mind to call him at 877-879-7160.
This is a scam in the very definition of the word. If this really was a marketing plan from one of the retailers that I have visited, I see no reason why they could not cover the cost of mailing me their promotion. In this age where hackers are stealing millions of credit card numbers in a single swoop, it is good to see companies like Creative Solutions Marketing, Inc trying to steal them one at a time like the good ‘ol days.
