In response to the customer's statement saying that we should have said something about the springs that counterbalance the door, and warned them that if they break, that they might damage the door or motor
We are not in the business of predicting when things are going to break or
get damagedWe only fix or repair what is broken and we do not encourage or pay our installers to sell parts under the guise of "preventive maintenance" just in case something might go wrongEverything has a life span, including springs on a garage doorWhen something breaks on anything,(including a garage door) the logical train of thought would be to quit using it,and get it fixed or repaired so additional damage does not happenIn this case, the customer felt that it would be OK to keep using the door even though the spring was brokenIn their defense, if they didn't know that the spring was broken, or didn't notice that the door was struggling to open, then I understand that they are upset that the motor quit workingIt's unfortunate that it happened, but it sometimes does happen That does not automatically make it our problem or our fault that it happened, and I can't accept the blame for something that is completely out of our control
I am sorry that this customer feels that we did not educate them about their door and systemI feel that we responded promptly when they called, and that we were honest and fair in our business practice
We always try to educate people and customers about their garage doorsUnfortunately, most people do not understand the biggest piece of moving equipment in their house and don't take time to understand how they workAll garage door springs have a life cycle. After the springs reach that cycle count (which is wholly determined on how often the homeowners use their door),the spring steel breaks, and they will then need to be replaced
Hopefully I have expressed the view of Cressy Door CompanyWe always try to do the right thing, and strive to treat our customers like we would like to be treatedIn this case, the customer was unfairly trying to place the blame on usAfter explaining how doors and springs work, and saying we were sorry for the unfortunate timing of the springs breaking, and opener failure, fourteen months after we installed the opener, our salesman got impatient, which was mistaken for rudeness Please let me know if you need more information, or explanation

To Whom it may concern,
Here is our written response to the complaint filed against Cressy Door Company by [redacted]. Wewere contracted to install two fireplaces and a logset by Silver Point Homes, in a totally gutted andremodeled house. We received 50% down payment as agreed...

upon with the builder and home owner. Itwas a COD account and it was also agreed upon to have the home owner pay us when we finished doingthe install. We installed the fireplaces on February 23, and we were not paid. We made numerous callsand e mails, and were told that we would be paid by the contractor and homeowner. On June 2lst, wewere told that the gas was finally connected and we returned on July 7th and had the fireplaces andlogset up and running and cleaned. There was an issue with one of the remotes, so we filed a warrantyreplacement. We still were not paid. Everything except a remote was working with the wall switch. Wereturned with the warranty parts and finally got paid on the 29th of July. Our agreement was to be paid when the customer placed the order and when the fireplaces wereinstalled. Only half of the agreement was fulfilled by the customer and we were left financing theproject until they got around to paying us. We did not charge a finance fee for financing the job for fourmonths.
