Complaint[redacted] jacket has remained unrepaired for a yr july 2014- dropped off [redacted] jacket for repairsSeptember 2015- came to pick up and discovered fur on the hood of the jacket was burnt. Owner promised to look for similar fur and repair it. took over 2 weeks to contact her. Feb 2015- spoke to her in person, I gave her [redacted] #. she called back saying its the wrong #. I don't understand why I have to figure out the repairs for her. august 2015- called to start dialogue. she said she will call me back. Desired SettlementI would like her to own up to the errors and repair my damaged jacket immediately as this has been over a year.

Review: Custom Cleaner shrunk my 5 piece custom made curtains and has refuse to resolve this problem

Sometime in the beginning of October 2013 I brought into Custom Cleaners a women's sweater and blouse belonging to my niece and my 5 custom made curtains to be dry cleaned. At that time I was given a receipt for $49.00, the price to be paid to get these items dry cleaned.

On October 9th 2013 I returned and paid for my dry cleaning. I re hung the curtains the next evening and noticed they had shrunk about 3 inches in length. I called my niece and told her what happened and told her to check her sweater and blouse that I had taken to get dry cleaned. She told me that her Desired Settlement: $400.00 for the replacement of my custom made curtains.

Also, I am requesting the $49.00 cleaning bill.

Thank you for providing a service for merchants and customers to resolve disputes.

We are aware of the complaint, and take care and pride in our profession.

The fee for the curtains was $40 the other two items totaled $9.50

When we had the opportunity to examine the curtains in question we did not notice any signs of shrinkage.

The curtains in question are lined and there is no puckering/gathering of seams and there is no other indication that the lining or curtain material have shrunk. It would not be likely that the two dissimilar fabrics shrunk the same amount. The hems or stitching do not indicate issues and the curtains hung straight and smooth.

Additional treatments to the curtains were provided two additional times at no charge.

Our records indicate that the curtains were returned approx. 6 weeks after being picked up.

We will refund the cleaning fee of $40 if requested. We find no evidence that the material has shrunk.

Review: On Monday September 23rd I dropped off 5 items to be dry cleaned at Custom Cleaners. The manager of the establishment and I went through each garment before I left. On Wednesday Septemeber 25 the clothes were dropped off at my apartment building. One of the blouses, instead of being dry cleaned, was returned to me with a large (4 inch) rip in the armpit. The other armpit had obvious repairs for a similar rip. I did not drop off the blouse in this condition; it happened after I dropped it off and before it was returned to me.

The blouse is unwearable and must be replaced. I went to Custom Cleaners before work on Thursday September 26th to request a replacement value for the blouse. The manager was there and told me that I had dropped off the blouse with the rip. She maintained that she found the rip, did not dry clean it as a result, and returned it to me without ever touching it. She had no explanation for the repair in the other armpit. She went so far as to say my sweat had ripped the shirt.

It is clear that the shirt was ripped somehow while at Custom Cleaners. The manager is refusing to take responsibility for the damage. She also lied about several things during our discussion and was belligerent and confrontational.Desired Settlement: I would like the replacement value of the blouse, as well as additional money for the stress and time spent resolving this issue, in the form of cash or check. The blouse was 100% silk and from [redacted], with a replacement value of approximately $120 (I can provide pictures). Additionally, I would like restitution for the extra time spent on filing this complaint and a complaint with the DC Department of Consumer Protection, and the stress and anxiety of dealing with Custom Cleaners.

Altogether, I would like $200 in the form of cash or check.
