DC Auto has had our vehicle since May 2010 to replace the engine in our 2003 Ford Mustang. The engine was purchased one year prior in June 2009.
May 20th, 2009 My husband and I paid DC Auto Body $1,700.00 dollars by check to purchase and install AFR 185 Heads, Lunatti Voodoo 2 Cam Shaft, and an Edelbrock Performer RPM 2 Intake Manifold and all associated components. May 29th 2009 W paid DC Auto Body $4,500.00 dollars by check for a DSS Racing 331 Short Block engine with forged internals. my husband was repeatedly advised by [redacted], DC Auto Body Manager, that work could not begin for various reasons. The engine purchased was an engine that Mr. [redacted] assured my husband was already in his possession. May 1010 Mr. [redacted] advised my husband work could begin. The car was dropped off with the promise the car would be ready for showing in the annual Mustang Week car show in July of that year. However, Mr. [redacted] advised my husband the engine in his possession was damaged in transportation from storage facility to his shop and had to go to a shop for repair. At this time, the car was already disassembled for work to begin. The original Ford Mustang engine was removed from my husband's vehicle, as agreed between Mr. [redacted] and my husband, and was placed in a different customer vehicle. The transmission was also removed at this time for the purpose of being rebuilt. November 2011 The lease on my Toyota Camry expired. My husband spoke to Mr. [redacted] repeatedly, months in advance, before the lease was to expire expressing the Ford Mustang was necessary for transportation. Mr. [redacted] again stated he would have my car ready well before my lease was up. Again, my husband was reassured we would have the car in two weeks. At the end of Novenber 2011 My husband asked Mr. [redacted] if there were any additional expenses that needed to be covered in order to expedite completion of the vehicle. He showed my husband a hand written invoice with the amount of $2,700 dollars which we paid by credit card. As of August 16th 2012(today), we have never seen an engine and the car is still without an engine sitting at DC Auto and Body.
