We have tried contacting your office in regards to this complaint, but have been unable to get through to a representative or voice mailboxWe began working with Mr & Mrs *** on this bathroom remodel back in early SeptemberThings were moving slowly, because the clients wanted to provide
the materials, and things kept arriving delayed and/or damagedWe did as much work as we could with what materials we did have when they were availableThings were moving along well, until client had another flooring contractor in the house working on another part of the houseThe contractor came into the bathroom remodel we were working on, and made a comment to the homeowner that he didn't think the shower waterproofing system was going to be waterproofWe ensured Mr& Mrs*** that the shower was installed according to manufacturers installation instructions and informed them it would have a lifetime warranty against leaksI also informed Mr*** that we would pay to have the supplier and a Kerdi-Schluter representative come out and look at the job to answer any questions or concerns he may have and confirm whether it was installed correctly to protect against leaksI also informed him that if it was installed incorrectly, we would correct the issueMr*** denied this offer, and informed us to stop work until further noticeI asked Mr*** why he thought the system would not protect against water, or what was wrong with it, and he said he didn't knowWe then, packed up all the tools, and equipment we could fit into the vehicle, and left the jobWe then received an email from Mr & Mrs *** stating they no longer wanted us to work on their bathroom, and stated they believed they owed us $I responded by stating, they owed for the remaining work we did complete up to that point, plus the additional materials we purchased that were to be paid by client, as stated in the signed contractI also asked when we could come by to finish clean-up, collect remaining tools and equipment, and provide final invoiceMr *** then responded ,"We will see you in court!" Mr *** would not provide us an opportunity to even collect our toolsWe spent a week waiting on a response, as we tried to comfort their concerns, and informed them that we would like to resolve this matter by being allowed to complete the job, however they would not permit us to finishAll of MrPayton's concerns addressed in the complaint would have been corrected by completion, however being we were not given the opportunity to finish and were kicked off the job abruptly, we were unable to tie any loose endsMr*** stated there was residue on the floor tile, and he is correctThis is because we hadn't yet cleaned off the grout residue or polished the tilesAny loose spots on the shower membrane would have been filled in once we put more mortar on for the tile, and even at that, the membrane was overlapped by 4", when a 2" overlay is only required, making it impossible for any moisture to get throughMr*** also stated we installed the metal edging with nails and screws, which is also incorrect, we used the nails and screws to hold it up where they needed to be leveled at, and would have been removing them and securing them with mortar once the tile was installedMr*** stated we used a butter knife to smooth the mortar in the shower, when we used a 12" putty knifeWe turned down jobs waiting on a response and lost other clients in hopes of resolving and completing the jobAfter a week, I asked Mr*** how they wanted to proceed, and he said to move on, that they did not want us to finishMr*** then began stating that we had until 10/23/to give a full refund plus the cost of the shower system, or he would be filing a complaint with Revdex.com, and hiring an attorneyWe informed Mr*** we were no longer communicating with him as we had exhausted all efforts in resolving this matter ourselves and to contact our attorney at Dunn Law Firm if he had any further questions or concernsMr *** sent a photo of our business and the address on 10/20/2017, which we felt very threatening and harassingOnce we informed Mr*** that we had already gotten an attorney involved, he began posting videos of the job on Facebook as if it was our finished work, when we were never even given the opportunity to complete itMr*** also posted a defaming review on our Facebook pageWe are now filing a sieze and desist with MrPayton, and if he continues to harass us in this matter, we will be informing the authorities as we have the right to be free from this type of behavior from clientsWe take pride in everything we do, and did everything in our power to work with Mr*** to ensure he was satisfied with the job, however he would not allow us any opportunity to correct any issues of concern. Please feel free to contact us with any further information regarding this matter at (309)826-Thanks!
