They rip off elderly citizens
They charge my 83 year old mother for subscription and very often she doesn't get a paper. I set up a surveillance camera to make sure nobody is stealing it. The car drives up to the box, sits there...and then drives away without putting a paper in the box. They ignore phone calls, emails, Facebook messages...that's what you call scammers. Then they wonder why nobody buys their paper. They had to close their plant, and moved into a tiny and hidden office on skid row. But they messed with the wrong person this time, I own a printing business of my own and i'm running off 200 yard signs and 300 t-shirts warning people not to do business with them. How low do you have to be to steal from old people. Stay away from these scammers.

Review: I was solicited by phone to renew my newspaper subscription. We agreed to a price, and my credit card was charged $13 more than the agreed to price. When I saw the higher amount posted to my credit card, I contacted the Daily Freeman. They said the billing dept. billed me before the amount was posted...which made no sense since I did not authorize payment before the agreed to amount. I was told I would be credited. I waited a week, and still no credit. I contacted them again and was told it would take 4-6 weeks to issue a refund. I explained that it took one day to withdraw the money from my account, it should not take 6 weeks to replace it. They said they would do their best, but that was their policy. I wonder how many others were subjected to the "bait and switch" and just didn't notice it, and the fact that they have the ability to withdraw the money in one day when it's to their advantage, yet I have to wait 6 weeks to right the wrong is unacceptable. Now I'm supposed to remember to watch and check for 6 weeks to make sure I am compensated? This is more than poor business practice.Desired Settlement: I would like some awareness from this business that their attitude and business practices need to be changed.

Good Morning,

I'm not sure if I have the correct email for a resolution communication, but this was the only email address I had (having deleted the original correspondence from you in error.) Regarding my complaint against the Daily Freeman newspaper, I received a credit to my account as soon as you contacted the company, despite them informing me that it would be 4 - 6 weeks before they would correct their error in billing.

Thank you so much!

IT still would be nice if they would recognize that over billing, waiting for the customer to contact them, and then not refunding the money as quickly as they took it, but telling the customer that they have to wait (and check) in 4 to 6 weeks for their money to be returned to them is not only bad business practice, it borders on dishonesty.

In any case, thank you again for your prompt attention to this. It's great to know there is somewhere to go to get a fair hearing!

Sincerely,

They do this all the time, mostly to senior citizens who don't know they can speak up.

It is now October 14 and I have received nothing.I went to the freeman office on Oct.[redacted]and the gentlemen said he would send a Email and would call me.
