Review: I took my car to Dances for the reason they were convenient and because Id been there a few times before for small things done to my car and they were always nice, helpful and seemed upfront and honest. I had my car towed to Dances on Monday August 8, 2013 because the car would not start nor hold a charge on the battery. When I got there and was talking to [redacted] (the owner of Dances) he said it was probably the alternator. I told him I had bought a battery the day before and gave it to his associate in case that was the problem. I called back late in the afternoon on the 8th and talked to one of the employees of Dances and he said the alternator was bad and the drive belt but Mr. [redacted] had to take his wife to the doctor and would be back shortly. I tried calling back 6 times before giving up because no one was answering. I called back early on August 9, 2013 to find out if the car was ready and how much the cost wasMr[redacted] said he had to figure out the cost. The alternator, battery and a drive belt were replaced.I was told that the bill was 803.59 and I was completely floored considering what few things were done to the car. I was told if I paid cash (which I did) Id receive 10% off. But when I asked for the receipt for the alternator I was told I couldnt have it even though Id purchased it..because Mr. [redacted] needed to return MY alternator to get the core fee back and hed paid wholesale for the part so I was not getting the receipt . I kept telling him I paid for that alternator not him and wanted the receipt for warranty purposes. He told me if there was a problem with the alternator I could contact him and hed get me another one since the alternator has 2 lifetime replacements. I had explained to him that I was selling the car next week and it would not be here locally.he still would not give me the receipt.Desired Settlement: I'd like to get the receipt for a alternator I paid for and the core fee back for my alternator not Mr. [redacted]'s. The way it stands right now I have no proof of a warranty the alternator, which is not acceptable to me.

The company called in to respond to the complaint. The company works retail and is not obligated to provide a receipt for what the company purchased whole sale. The warranty information is at the bottom of the customer's receipt. The company also indicated if the customer sells the car the warranty is void. The warranty only covers the first owner.
