We contracted with Darrell last year to build our much earned retirement home on a golf course. He makes the selling process so easy with reassurances a beautiful finished product was a certainty. Communication with him was just ok during the building process. We paid him our life savings of cash when the house was finished. We got very sick shortly after moving into our new home with daily headaches and nosebleeds..which was rare. We called in a home inspector to determine if something was wrong. It was...house was built on moldy floor joists...allergies. We immediately contacted Darrell about this and he was very upset we had called a home inspector to "inspect his house". The punch list with pictures was 35 pages. We sent this report to Darrell for corrections. He has gone silent for the most part. We are concerned our warranty will expire and the corrections go uncorrected. We also looked closely at our contract and found numerous issues that he failed to provide. Quality control is lacking in his fast building process. The house is beautiful, but his wonderful subcontractors are stretched thin. Our house is located in aTappahannock golf course, corner lot for all to see. We are proud of our retirement home, but Darrell Kellum needs to contact us and just get it all corrections fixed so we can enjoy our new home, stress free. Martin, Sr.,and Theresa Smith.
