Data Spectrum Corporation Reviews (1)

Product was defective upon receipt. Sent back for repair and once again defective upon receipt.I have tried to contact the president of Data Spectrums. She has avoided my calls. Has her receptionist decline my request. I just want my purchase made right. Either replace or repair small [redacted] which was defective from the original purchase date.Desired SettlementTo repaire/replace productBusiness Response This is taken from the message we e-mailed on 3/4/2014 to [redacted] whose company purchased a product that did not meet his needs. He made his complaint about a leak in 2014 when his purchase was made in January of 2012. The repair in question was needed because a hole was incompletely drilled and we fixed that and made sure with pressure testing there was no leak before returning it to the customer. Pressure tests are documented with employee initials and dates.-----------"The[redacted] was purchased in January of 2012, and the repair of hole was done in April of that year at no charge. There was no mention at that time of a leak. Each [redacted] that we sell is pressure tested for leaking, without fail, because radioactive fillers are often used by users of the[redacted]s. It is a safety measure that we take very seriously."For a period of 90 days ... Data Spectrum Corporation warrants such[redacted] shall be free from defects in materials and workmanship."Now, in 2014, you have found that the[redacted] leaks from the bottom, and are concerned that this may have resulted from our repair. It is not possible to take that small[redacted] apart, and the hole drilling did not entail removing the cylinder from its bottom. It was pressure tested again following the repair before it was returned to you.I am sorry you bought the wrong piece of equipment. There is no way we could take it back outside the warranty period. If you want to ship it back to us, we will try to find the problem causing the leak and fix it. Our minimum shop charge is $106, plus the cost of any parts. If we were to find that a repair is not possible, we would return it to you charging only for shipping."Final Consumer Response [redacted], As you stated, the purchase date was in January 2012 and I returned the[redacted] in April 2012 when I unboxed it to use it for the first time and saw that it was defective. As you can see it took me 3 to 4 months to get the[redacted] out to use it because I did not need to use it until that time. I tried repeatedly to get through to an owner of Data Spectrum. You had mentioned [redacted], the owner of your company is a very busy person with her family. You stated she has [redacted] so she can't return my phone calls. I too am very busy and I have a family and we have gone through [redacted] as well. That is no excuse for either party. When I went to use the[redacted] last fall it had a leak. I had contacted you at that time and you said I needed to speak with [redacted], however, she has still neglected to return my calls. This[redacted] has not been dropped or mishandled in any way. I am not asking for a refund for the[redacted]. I have accepted the fact that you have sold me a[redacted] that I cannot use for my system. I have accepted the fact that I am out about $1400. However, it is hard for me to accept the fact that your company will not let me return this[redacted] with no cost to me to be repaired to satisfactory condition. This is why I was forced to report you to the Revdex.com. As an business owner I would never treat our customers with the disrespect you have given to me. Hanging up on your customer is not a way to solve a problem. I would gladly pay for the shipping of the[redacted] back to your facility. Again, there has been no neglect on my part. This[redacted] was originally shipped to me in unsatisfactory condition. It was repaired and sent back to me and I filled it once. The next time I took the screw off to use it again it began to leak. All I am requesting is that you are able to repair the leak. I am sure your company has the expertise to do this easily and with minimal cost. I am asking that one of the owners please contact me instead of [redacted], so that we may resolve this issue as soon as possible.Final Business Response Response to Revdex.com Case# [redacted]:The customer has requested he hear from me and the facts regarding this case are as follows:The product referred to in the customer complaint was purchased from Data Spectrum Corporation in the month of January in the year 2012. A report of a an untapped thread in the bottom cylinder of the product was made in April of 2012. Although the product was out of the 90 day warranty period, we accepted the Returned Material under Authorization# [redacted] and paid for the repair, including shipping fees. The product passed our quality control standard by a high margin. The customer's [redacted] has a leak at this time in 2014. We are, once again, well out of the 90 day warranty period and do not feel we can extend repair services for free of charge. We value our customers and strive to give customers the best service we can.Best regards,[redacted]Data Spectrum CorporationGeneral Manager/Sales and Technical Supprt
