Initial Business Response /* (1000, 7, 2014/02/14) */
I believe this situation has been resolved and if not the customer can contact either one of my sons at our other locations that's *** at the grayslake il or*** at the round lake beach il fairfeold rd location phone #s grayslake =
847=223=or fairfeild rd = 847=546=
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 9, 2014/02/14) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
The transmission is now making noises at startupSecondly, when the work was performed at the shop in Round Lake, why would I contact a different shop to fix it? Just goes to show the unprofessional nature of this business owner
This is still unacceptable, I am going to contact the owner and ask for a refund again
I do not accept this solutionI still want a partial refund
Final Business Response /* (4000, 12, 2014/02/17) */
All mechanics at all location work for and are paid by one central location, the cedar lake rd shop and frankly, this customer is not welcome at this locationIf there is any problem with any work done by***s Transmission all mechanics at all locations will be able to identify and cure a situation created by work preformed at the cedar lake rd location as you see me and this customer are never going to see eye to eye due to the fact that he puts words in your mouth and he misdiagnosed this vehicleWhen he brought his truck in he ask to buy a product, he did at no time say he was having a certain problem prior to the work being doneHe wanted high performance heavy duty parts for his diesel truck on the advice of things he read on the internetI get customers requesting high performance products all the time due to the special use and preference on how they drive , at no time was I told there was a problem with the performance of this vehicle even when we towed him from the roadside within hour of him breaking downHe still never gave my his original problem all he kept saying is 'These parts you put in are bad , but yet when we towed him from the roadside at no charge we could NOT get the truck to perform improperly but we went thru the motions of completely replacing all parts installed on his word This customer should of been charged labor and fluid again but for customer satisfaction we completely redid all work in question and again the vehicle preformed properlyI personally didn't even know that we had preformed valve body work on his transmission months earlier until I put the trans on the bench to install high performance parts , I actually called him and said 'somebody has worked on this trans before and installed a valve body from my supplier then he responded ' yea you did that months ago Maybe a lot of the problems started by the phone calls he made to me inquiring about the purchase price of high performance parts over a month period prior to bring the truck in and doesn't explain the history of the vehicle and what exact problems he is experiencing that customer is going to get exactly what they ask for , so in closing if the customer would like my business to help him then he is more than welcome to go visit one of my sons but as far as I am concerned I do not deal with customers that think they are going to keep saying 'Listen to me this is how its going to play out !!' this young man needs to take his argumentative, know it all attitude somewhere else cause as far as I am concerned he received exactly what he requested given the limited history on his vehicle that he gave me and he is NOT allowed on the property at cedar lake rdHe refuses to give information on the issue he is having, yet blames the parts HE requested for the truck KNOWING FULL WELL there was a previous issue with the transmission prior to installing these partsP,S I apologize to the Revdex.com for being put in the middle of this situation and for anything I might of said to make me sound unprofessional in your eyes but I tried to resolve this situation to no avail with this customerthanks dave f
Final Consumer Response /* (4200, 16, 2014/02/18) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I'm going to keep this factual, not opinion based
From *** own rebuttal, he has worked on this vehicle before and he did have prior contact with me before bringing my vehicle to himThis solidifies my openening argument that we spoke and diagnosed this problem over the course of many phone calls
*** has a work intake log that customers fill out when leaving the vehicleOn that work intake log I specifically stated, torque converted problems and that the block heater plug wasn't workingHis repeated assumption of me not talking with him and demanding parts is not factualWe spoke verbally over the phone to which he gave me three price points, direct replacement, upgrade, and high performance
As far as internet research, this again is not factualI at no time did internet research to diagnose this problem (see above phone calls) and I certainly never indicated to*** that internet research was performed
As far as the valve body work,*** was not directly informed of the previous valve body work until after the vehicle was picked up on the side of the roadI do agree to thatThe reason for bringing it up was because I was stranded on the side of the roadKnowing that he was tearing the transmission down again I inquired to the possibility of it being the previous workBringing a truck with transmissions issues to the transmission shop the performed previous work on that transmission is logicalWhat issues would persist from the first attempt at fixing?
As far as not finding anything wrong after the tow.*** advised me to not drive the vehicle any further for fear of destructionFactually speaking the vehicle would move for a period of minutes then stop moving all togetherI made two phone calls, to which I was told to stop driving, it could do permanent damage.*** did warranty the torque converter and (something he hasn't mentioned) replaced more parts on the pumpIndicating that there were either defective parts on the pump or that the wrong parts were installedAn answer I have not receivedThe fact that the vehicle drives now after those parts were replaced is evidence of the above replacements being a factorSo in light of his repeated use of finding no problems, he did replacements of many parts, which are not listed in these conversations
Being a well informed consumer and not allowing business owners to bully and push their customers around, puts business owners like*** uneasyFrom his own rebuttal he has a predetermined almost prejudicial attitude against me and is unwilling to satisfy his customer on principle and would rather blame the customer for the problems
I do not accept his resolution (mostly because one hasn't been given.) And I am still requesting a refund on labor
