the car is done and has been done for weeks , we have called the customer repeatedly and ask him to please come test drive and pick up vehicle The vehicle is years old and has miles on it and has NOT been taken very good care of , I have close up pics of the dry rot that has occurred
over the years to the rubber and plastic items under the hood of this vehicle , I just don't know how to upload them to you , all of it is wear and tear from a vehicle that is years old and not had maintenance Our business has went way over and above in the repair of this vehicle, We also gave this customer a choice when it was at our grayslake location when my son was able to get the car so it was driveable and just had a slight flare 2-shift but it was driveable , Customers choice was take it from the grayslake location at no charge and drive it or send it to the cedar lake rd location and let me [DAVE ] work on it due to the advanced experience that I have with the older vehicles and if it was repaired properly then he would pay the bill in full that he was originaly quoted of $He agreed for us to relocate the vehicle , I was able to repair the vehicle properly even thou more money was required to obtain more parts that were needed that went over and above the price of parts for a rebuild transmission that he was quoted for, The price to him did not change , I explained to him that we have more money in parts then the bill of $that he was quoted but I was not changing his original price quote for all of his inconvenience , He then came in and drove the vehicle and said he didn't feel it ran right I then explained to him that its a old car and has a lot more general repair issues that he needed to make the vehicle RUN 100% , He wouldn't pick it up because he wanted us to see why the engine wasn't running properly , we diagnosed the issue of the ruff engine idle was due to a dry rotted air intake tube so we bought a new one for him at $over and above the trans repair , Called him and told him it was no extra charge again to him and ask to please come in and drive vehicle so he could pay in the original amount of $and pick the car up and he has yet to come in The vehicle still has engine trouble codes in it , 16,23,and which are all engine related codes and will cause minor engine running issues but the transmission on this vehicle is 100% , These codes are Osensor and EGR VALVE related items which have nothing to due with the transmissionWe have right at $invested in this vehicle in parts alone and we never added any upcharges to this customers bill and I believe this customer just wants to dispute any charges and exspects us to take money off the exsisting bill so as the owner of the business it is my discretion how payment shall be made .In closing our business has went well over and above our original agreement with this customers vehicle and didn't give up on repairing it properly in taking it from the towed in no move state it was in when we originaly came in to a vehicle that can be driven daileythank you very much , dave feltner owner operator , Daves transmission
