Decorative Shades of Monmouth

Review: I purchased two retractable awnings from DSM in March of 2011. The proprietor of DSM is [redacted]. The awnings are motorized for extending and retracting. The price was about $5000.

One of the awnings stopped working in April 2014. After numerous calls to [redacted] he came to my home in May 2014, just before Memorial Day. [redacted] inspected the awning and determined that the motor had stopped working. The contract with DSM specifies that the motors have a 5 year warranty. [redacted] scheduled another visit to replace the motor under warranty for the following Friday afternoon. I took a day off from work to be home for the service call. Around 5 PM on the day of the scheduled service I called [redacted] to see if he was coming to make the repair. On one ever answers his business phone. It always goes to voicemail. My message was not answered that day.

I have called [redacted] about once each week since then attempting to get him to honor the warranty and replace the motor. He has never answered my calls.

On July 7, 2014 I sent [redacted] a fax requesting the motor be replaced per the warranty. I contacted the manufacturer of the motor and they confirm the 5 year warranty is effective.

I have even asked [redacted] in voicemails and in my fax to provide me with the name of another installer who could do the work given he has ignored all my requests.
