The client is correct that I did inadvertently scratch her stainless steel stove top trying to remove burnt on food There are a few minor scratches I have made offers to remedy the situationI have spoken to an appliance distributor and a kitchen re-modeler who both told me that you
can use a stainless steel scratch remover kit to try and remove the scratches on her particular model I have offered to do that for her or even pay someone else to do itShe has refused both offers I told the client that if the scratches can't be removed then I would be willing to replace the part - the actual stove topWhat she is trying to get our company to pay for is a whole new stove - burners, knobs everything It is a year old stove, so I know that they still have parts availableThe price for the part is around $350, which is a big difference from a whole new stove of $1, I still stand by my offer to try and remove the scratches and then purchase the part for her if that doesn't work. I have not admitted to scratching her chrome in her bathroom as we don't use scrub sponges on faucets I said it is possible that we did this, but I am not admitting fault on that itemWe clean hundreds of faucets every week without scratching them, so we know how to clean them properly
Review: The owner of this cleaning company cleaned my kitchen and scratched the stainless steel sink and stainless steel cooktop with a scotch brite pad. He admitted to doing so and turned in a claim to his insurance company to replace the cooktop. The insurance company denied the claim as he is not covered for such damage. He is now refusing to replace and only offering to repair himself with a repair kit. However, the manufacturer (Kitchen Aid) and a stainless steel refinishing company have advised against refinishing.
Additionally, it should be noted that I am not asking for repair/replacement of the sink nor the chrome sink fixtures that have also been scratched by their careless cleaning techniques.Desired Settlement: It is unreasonable for him to refuse payment when he admitted to the wrong doing and was going to have insurance cover the replacement. The entire cost of the replacement minus the one free cleaning of $110 needs to be paid. This is a total of $1424.39.

The client is correct that I did inadvertently scratch her stainless steel stove top trying to remove burnt on food. There are a few minor scratches. I have made 2 offers to remedy the situation. I have spoken to an appliance distributor and a kitchen re-modeler who both told me that you can use a stainless steel scratch remover kit to try and remove the scratches on her particular model. I have offered to do that for her or even pay someone else to do it. She has refused both offers. I told the client that if the scratches can't be removed then I would be willing to replace the part - the actual stove top. What she is trying to get our company to pay for is a whole new stove - burners, knobs everything. It is a 3 year old stove, so I know that they still have parts available. The price for the part is around $350, which is a big difference from a whole new stove of $1,500. I still stand by my offer to try and remove the scratches and then purchase the part for her if that doesn't work. I have not admitted to scratching her chrome in her bathroom as we don't use scrub sponges on faucets. I said it is possible that we did this, but I am not admitting fault on that item.
