Complaint:
I am rejecting this response because:
I do not like the tone of MrDavis's responseWe never mentioned anything about the quality of the shutters in our complaintThis is a customer service issueWe offered to pay for the repairs from the beginningAlso, MrDavis is not addressing the fact that some of the shutter doors need to have their alignment adjustedThat was pointed out to him when he came to inspect the damaged shutters and he acknowledged that they can be adjusted when they replace the damages shuttersThis was included in the Revdex.com complaint but not mentioned in his responseAlso, since submitting the Revdex.com complaint, I've noticed that one of the blinds wood is splittingThe main concern with MrDavis is his lack of response to our attempt to contact him, which is why we filed with the Revdex.comI understand if he is busy moving his shop but he never mentioned that and stopped communicatingMrDavis claims that our blinds have a life time warranty and we would like them adjusted and the spilt blind replaced in addition to having the other damaged blinds replaced as he said he would doMrD***

I will contact the shutter factory to have them make these replacement louvers that the customers cat chewed on. 
This "repair" has nothing to do with the quality of the shutter or its warranty. These were wooden louvers that were damaged by the homeowners cat!

these louvers as a one time courtesy to the customer because they live in the same community as my wife and I. I guess sometimes when you offer to do something for FREE, it's not a good idea.  100% my fault that this didn't get taken care of in a timely manner, we've been very busy and the shutter shop moved locations.
Again, I will get this taken care of just as soon as possible.

I do not own the shutter factory, nor have I ever represented that I do. The shutter factory did have a move recently. I would recommend at this point that the consumer get in touch with the shutter factory for warranty work. The name of the manufacturer is "A custom shutters".
 Their phone number is 818-837-1525. They will be able to take care of any warranty problems and also replace any louvers that might be damaged. I will reach out to them and give them the measurements for those damaged bloomers.
 I think at this point it makes more sense to work directly with the factory to resolve any issues any future issues.

I am rejecting this response because:
The fact that Mr. D[redacted] may or may not own the shutter factory is irrelevant to my complaint. We purchased from Discount Shutters, which is Mr. D[redacted]' company. I did call the number he provided and left a message. Mr. D[redacted] states that he will reach out to them and give them the measurements, but in one of the messages he previously sent me he states that he already sent them the measurements (please see attachment) and would follow up the next day which he never did. Mr. D[redacted] clearly had no intent to follow up and has no concern for his customers after the sale is made. If I did not contact Revdex.com I feel confident I would never hear from Mr. D[redacted] again. I will work with the Shutter Factory (if they call back) or find a local reputable company to repair our damaged shutters and and correct the installation errors and defective splitting shutter. My complaint with Mr. D[redacted] and Discount Shutters poor customer service stands and remains unresolved.

Review: I hired [redacted], from Discount Shutters & Blinds, to make and install shutters for my home on May 6, 2013. He estimated the work would be done in 3 weeks and would cost $2,500. He requested and received $1,250 as deposit.For 3 months, Mr. [redacted] gave me excuses on top of excuses (lies) and kept delaying the installation. He wouldnt answer any phone calls/emails. He corresponded by text messages only.Internet searches uncovered more complaints about his business practice. He has been described as a thief, liar and a con-artist, etc. There are also judgments against him and his company. Ive even found a comment from one of his ex-employees claiming that Mr. [redacted] has been pulling this crap for YEARS.Mr. [redacted] induces customers to hire him by promising to complete jobs within a short time, but never intending to come through with that promise. I dont doubt he has SOME satisfied customers, but thats part of his MO. Make a few customers happy to lure more victims by way of referrals.I had enough of his lies and demanded a refund on Aug. 2nd. Mr. [redacted] tried to CON me into giving him more time, but I refused again and again. I finally decided not to exchange anymore text messages with him and, instead, send a cert. mail memorializing my demand for refund. Mr. [redacted] started leaving me VMs (yes, he finally called). He wanted to send only part of my deposit and the rest later. He wanted me to ok that. Really?With a threat of a suit, he reluctantly sent $700, $550.00 short of my deposit. I sent another cert. mail acknowledging the receipt of the money order and demanded he send the rest of my deposit immediately.He refuses to send the $550.00 until we meet IN PERSON for me to sign a document. Why? He already has two of my cert. letters demanding a refund. If he sends a check/money order, he will have proof that he paid me back. It is just another stall tactic and maybe the doc has some hidden language in his favor he hopes I dont see and sign.Desired Settlement: We no longer want to deal with him directly. He has sounded increasingly aggravated in his past few messages because we are not falling for his games and tactics. He is now saying that a letter isnt going to do it. We want [redacted] to refund us $550 (rest of our deposit). Pls have him stop contacting us via txt/ph/VM. Response:

I have agreed to refund this customer the $1250 deposit for their custom made shutter order. The order did run very late and was beyond our control. The factor behind this was a money issue. Business is very slow and we were unable to pay the vendor in full for the product with only a 50% deposit from the customer. We (like most companies) rely on cash flow to operate our business. When cash flow is slow, then orders run behind. This is the reason for the order being so late.

I did agree to pay the customer back the $1250 deposit. We have sent out a $700 money order vis USPS first class mail.
