Review: On June 14th, 2014, I took my car to Doms Getty in Hightstown because my car was overheating. Larry Q[redacted] (owner and town mayor) gave me a bill for $997 to have my head gasket, water pump, and timing belt replaced. Not even a year later (this is being written on April 14th, 2015), my car started overheating again. I took it back to Doms Getty and spoke with Larry to inform him my car was overheating again, to which he replied, Oh, your head gasket blew again. I said I didnt know what had happened, and I was hoping he could take a look at it. He got very defensive and started saying he didnt want to work on my car or deal with me.I told Larry I had the original receipt (to which he replied, no you dont) and if he wanted to see what work he did I would bring it to him. I informed him that I would run the diagnostic test with another mechanic (which he asked if I had done) and if the head gasket was in fact the problem, I would bring it back to him. He replied, dont even bother. Take me to court. Before jumping to any conclusions, I had another mechanic perform a complete diagnostic test of my car to uncover the cause of the overheating. The mechanic stated that there was no way the head gasket was replaced within the last year. He took several pictures to corroborate his story, and I have several pictures taken as well. According to the mechanic, the current reason my car is overheating is due to a blown gasket. In his professional opinion, this would not have happened if the head gasket was recently replaced. On the original receipt, I was charged $185.07 for a new head set along with the charges for the water pump kit and coolant. I was charged $574.20 in labor costs to remove and replace water pump, timing belt, and head gasket. Now Im faced with the necessity of having my head gasket replaced and until I get a refund from Larry, I do not have the money to fix my car.Desired Settlement: Because I can no longer trust Larry to properly fix my car the only resolve to this issue will be a refund. I want a refund for the parts that were not replaced (the head gasket at $185.07) as well as the labor costs at $574.20. Additionally, I will be out of the country for an extended period of time so please send all correspondence to my email. Thank you!
