Review: We bought a home in June of this year, closing on the [redacted]. It was advertised as a turn key house, ready to move in. After the closing, we moved in to discover multiple issues that should have been disclosed by the agents and serious problems that should have been found during the home inspection. The listing agent was [redacted] of Douglas Elliman, and sold in conjunction with [redacted] agent [redacted]. The agents LIED about the square footage. The house was listed as being 1900 square feet. The actual square footage is 1,224 square feet. They also lied about the pending bids on the property in an effort to increase the price of the home. There was a leak from the bathroom that had been there for several years according to the plumber we hired to fix it. This leak was so bad the entire bathroom plumbing and fixtures had to be replaced, forcing my wife and I to shower at our gyms and other places for three weeks while the repairs were completed. After the 1st hard rain that fell we discovered several leaks in the roof. The agent told us that the roof was less than ten years old. We hired a roofer to reinspect the roof where he discovered that when the roof was installed the flashing had been installed backwards and was not secured. We also learned that the house was infested with ants and mice. In addition we found cracks in the foundation. The home inspector obviously did not perform a thorough inspection. It was also discovered that the electrical amperage was not up to code, and the agent provided a false document saying that it was. This turn-key house has been everything except that. It was most definitely not the move-in condition that it was advertised.Desired Settlement: The agents clearly lied about the SF in order increase the asking price, and lied about bids that had supposedly been submitted for the same reason. The house was over-valued because of this collusion. We are looking for a refund of $5000 to cover part of the cost of the new plumbing, bathroom fixture, and roof repair. This is one of two complaints to be filed against both agents & their companies. It is also a way to put onto record these issues, so if needed we can pursue this matter in courts
