Druid Hills Marathon Reviews (1)

Review: I am writing in regards to an incident I had on 10/30/2013 with the Druid Hills Marathon. I had a problem with my brakes and rotors on my Ford truck. I took it to the Marathon and they were suppose to fix the problem. I picked up the truck and it was still not right. I took it back the next day and all they would do was take my telephone number down. I continued to have a problem every time I applied by brakes it would still shake.

I took my truck to get it lined up because I thought this could be the problem [redacted] on 11/12/2013 they lined my truck up and it was still shaking when you put on the brakes. He checked and said I needed new rotors. I told him I had just paid to have new rotors put on 12 days ago.

[redacted] replaced my rotors and gave me the old ones to bring home with me. I paid twice to have rotors put on. There should be something that could be done to the Marathon for charging me for rotors that were not put on. I was referred to the Revdex.com by the Circuit Court.

I would really like to get this matter resolved as soon as possible. Thank you for your assistance in this matter I am sending copies of both the bills from these companies.

Thank you

Response:

I am responding to the complaint that was filed on 12/10/2013--complaint number [redacted].First of all I want you to know that this is not James Wood responding it is Sharon Barrow who is part owner of the station. I was not at the station the day this happened but this is what was relayed to me by my technician. This customer came to the Marathon and asked for an estimate on brakes and rotors which she was given. She approved the estimate and the parts were ordered. The repair order was made and the labor operation said that the front brakes and rotors were going to be replaced. This customer was waiting while the repairs were being done to her vehicle. After the technician got the tires off and looked at the brakes and rotors he called the customer in and told her that the brakes needed to be replaced but the rotors appeared to be okay and just needed to be turned. She told him that she did not want anything but the brake pads replaced. When the repair order was completed and billed out to the customer the technician failed to take the notes off of the order that said to replace the rotors. She was not charged for rotors. If you have a copy of the paperwork you will see labor of $72.00 and the brake pads for $94.60 for a total of 166.60 before tax. The customer did not come back the next day but did come back a week later. When she came in she did not complain of any problems with the vehicle, she said that she thought she had been charged too much. As a company we stand behind our work and if she had said she was having a problem we would have addressed and fixed her problem. At this stage I'm not sure how to proceed with this,

I hate that she had a problem with the rotors, that she did not say she was having a problem and took the vehicle to another shop, and she wants a full refund for rotors that I did not charge her for. Please advise.

Sincerely Yours,

Sharon Barrow

Response:

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

This message is in regard to my complaint submitted on 12/10/2013 against Druid Hills Marathon. I was not given an estimate for brakes and rotors when I went to the Marathon station. I was told to come back that afternoon at 2:00 pm because the technician had a dentist appt. that morning and would not be able to put the brakes on until the afternoon. If I had of been given an estimate that high for brakes alone I would have went somewhere else.

Like alot of people that live on a fixed income I went to the Marathon so I could use my card and pay some this month and the rest the following month.

I went to two different places that replace brakes and got an estimate for brake pads and for putting them on.

Regards,
