Review: on 10/**/12 we, [redacted] hired Durable Construction for a roofing job,. On 12/**/12 we made a $8000 down payment to [redacted] of Durable. The down payment was for materials as per the contract. The contractor then "disappeared" and never delivered the materials or started the work. We receive no materials and no refund. Multiple attempts at contact were unsuccessful. No return calls or replies to emails. We heard that he left the country but have noticed activity at his shop in Brooklyn and has been seen doing work elsewhere. Further attempts to file a claim with the contractors insurance [redacted] have also failed. There is no live operator. Another email is [redacted]. We have copies of the canceled checkDesired Settlement: If [redacted] returns the $8000, we would cease with legal action (both criminal and civil). We have given him ample time to rectify.
