Complete crooks . There techs need extensive retraining asap. And manger Jeff is less then to be desired retraining in customer service for starters would work.

Review: -Took car (2011 Kia Optima) to dealership 9/*/15 for a suspicious sound, it was determined I needed tie rods; had tie rods replaced, was offered an oil change, paid for tie rods and oil change.

-Left the dealership on 9/*/15, car never made it home; car would not accelerate, white smoke pouring from the rear of the car, managed to turn the car around and make it back to the dealership; mechanic who serviced the car said he couldn't let me drive the car in that condition; I agreed to leave it to determine issue.

-9/*/15 dealership was given permission to perform diagnostic, it was discovered that the turbo was blown due to lack of lubrication; unsure of exact date of verbal estimate( 9/* or 9/*), but was told parts would be $2904 and labor would be $402 plus tax

-I asked for a loaner and was told I needed to put a deposit on the work which amounted to the total cost of the parts. I expressed that I didn't have it and was going to seek out financing.

-was unable to secure financing, and informed dealership that I would seek to purchase the parts after market.

-was successful in purchasing the part after market; 10/**/15 the part arrived; 10/**/15 part was delivered to dealership

--after delivering the part, was still denied a loaner, reason being I hadn't bought into a buyers program; dealership knew I hadn't purchased my car from them.

-car was picked up on 10/**/15; drove the car to work on 10/**/15; experienced the same issues with the car driving to work that the dealership claimed to repair( car wouldn't accelerate, white smoke)

-took car to [redacted] on 10/**/15; was told that the oil levels were " very low and very black"; called Dutchess Kia and had the [redacted] mechanic tell him what he found; Dutchess Kia mechanic claimed the oil was changed on 9/*/15. [redacted] mechanic disagreed.

-[redacted] attempted to fix the issue; but was unable to.

-contacted dealership and Kia consumer affairs with no results.

-to its credit dealership was patient in waiting for me to get the parts, but on the other hand, they put me in danger by giving me my car back without putting oil back into the vehicle.Desired Settlement: I would like the money back that I paid for the repair.

Response:

On 9/*/2015 the vehicle was presented to us with a strange

scraping noise that sound like it was coming from the driver's side. It was determined

that the vehicle had no oil in the engine and would need an oil change before

proceeding any further. It was also noted that the r/f outer tie rod end had

play in it, which was replaced and alignment

done and a key fob battery was replaced as well. The customer took the vehicle

and brought it back a day or 2 later stating that it was smoking from the

exhaust and had loud scrape noise .Permission to diagnose the vehicle was

obtained. A compression test and cylinder leak down test was performed and

passed. We removed the turbocharger inlet and found that the impeller shaft

bearing was no good due to lack of

lubrication and caused the impeller shaft to have play and contact the inside

of the turbocharger housing and cause the impeller nut to come off the shaft

because it was seizing up. The customer stated she had not changed the engine

oil since purchasing the vehicle some 25,000 miles plus ago. An estimate was

presented to replace the turbocharger with original equipment components. The

customer declined due to lack of funds. The customer tried to get funding for

the repair and could not. She then opted to purchase a used turbo charger from

a salvage facility. She provided this component and we installed it. The

customer stopped at our facility before this occurred and she was explained to

that the turbocharger could be just an end result of a problem with the engine

and not the only issue. There could be something else causing the issue of the

engine loosing oil and that due to a lack of maintenance there certainly could

be other issues with then engine. She said she understood and agreed to the

terms. The turbo was replaced and vehicle driven for a normal road test to

clear the excessive oil in the exhaust from when the turbo impeller seal had

gone bad. The engine oil was topped off. The customer picked up the vehicle and

called the next day and said the engine was out of oil, but provided no information

as to why it was out of engine oil.We did exactly what we said we would do and still have the

old turbo to prove the turbo was in fact damaged. The customer agreed and

understood that the engine could have other issues related to customer neglect.

The vehicle was also left at our facility for upwards of 50 days not being

repaired and we did not charge the customer the $40.00 per day storage fee

trying to sensitive to her monetary problem. At this time we feel that our actions were justified and

cannot offer a refund based on the facts.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

[Your Answer Here]

Earlier in their response, they state that I waited two days to bring back the vehicle. Which time? After the first oil change, I took the car back the same day. After the attempt to repair it, it took two days because I was in contact with Kia Consumer Affairs. They finally advised me to return the car to the dealership. How could I provide an explanation as to why there was no oil in the car? That's a question that they should be answering. The dealership said they performed an oil change, yet another certified mechanic showed me evidence to the contrary. The fact still remains that I picked up my car from the dealership and experienced the same issues that were supposed to be repaired.

In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

Sincerely,

Response:

The vehicle was towed to our facilityon 11/**/15. After reviewing the failure it was determined that the turbo failed due to a lack of maintenance. The oil feed tube for the turbo bearing was clogged at the pick up end and starved the turbo bearing which promoted its failure. This caused the engine oil to burn through the intake.A used turbo and replacement line were installed as a goodwill gesture and the customer was advised that any subsequent repairs arising from the lack of changing the oil in 30,000 miles will be her responsiblity.

Review: I have a 2006 Town & Country with a bad catalytic converter which had to be repaired by the dealer because it was under warranty. I was informed the parts and labor would be covered under warranty. I was later informed that the 2 O2 sensors had to replaced and would cost parts and labor from $600-$700. I am in a wheelchair and require this modified vehicle for my only means of transportation. They had me. I agreed to the repairs. I was informed later that day that because the van is modified for wheelchair entry that they would have to do custom welding on the pipe that goes from the catalytic converter to the O2 sensor that would be an additional $250. Total charged $1037.02 including tax. I looked up the parts on the Chrysler website and found the parts to be considerably less. I was charged $323.39 for Chrysler parts that cost $181.38. I also reviewed online the time it would take to replace the 2 O2 sensors. It was roughly 1/2 to 1 hour. I was charged $635.70 which included the pipe welding. Their labor rate is $97.80. I was definitely taken advantage of and ripped off.Desired Settlement: Refund $142.01 over charged on parts. Refund 1/2 of the labor charges of $317.85 Total $443.86.

Response:

I have reviewed the enclosed bill and believe all of the charges to be fair. For our labor repairs

we charge $97.80/hr. To determine hours to complete most of our repairs we use a labor price guide that called All Data

that is standard in the industry. Here is how it translates into this particular vehicle.

1/ EGR valve 1.1hr for replacement

2/Upstream 02 sensor 1.4hr for replacement

3/Downstream 02 sensor .5hr for replacement

4/ we charged 1hr diagnostic time

Additionally, we had to fabricate the new catalytic converter due to the fact that the vehicle was customized.

We consulted Monroe Muffler as to pricing, as they are a muffler shop. They suggested a charge of $250, which we felt, was fair.

I understand that the customer found the part on the Internet for less but I feel that

our price was competitive in the market and there is no specified price that we are required to adhere to.

All prices were presented and approved to customer prior to performing them

We have been he 35 years and strive to provide excellent service here at the dealership. hope you agree

that service provided was pleasant and professional. I would like to offer Mrs. [redacted] a gift certificate for $100 to the dealership as show of good faith.

Response:

At this time, I have not been contacted by Dutchess Chrysler Jeep Dodge regarding complaint ID [redacted].

Sincerely,

Brought my truck to Dutchess Dodge September ** 2015 engine was not running transmission overheated. They go through 4 PCM's and then service my transmission. Then they tell me that the transmission is shot and I need to replace it. They replace the transmission and then hand me a bill of $4700 and change. When I questioned the bill I go through it and find out they overcharge me by about $400. They give me back the vehicle and I have a light on the inside of the vehicle Flushing and my brake and gas padel will not move up or down "Adjustable type". I go back and they tell me all they need to do is program a patch and that a fuse was missing, which the teck had the whole fuse pannel out. Again they tell me it fixed. Then I have a vibration coming on the stairwell so I go to Mavis where I bought my tires and have it checked. They balance all my tires and do wheel alligment then tell me to bring it back to the people who did the transmission because it's something internal to the transmission. I bring it back and Dutchess Dodge tells me its the transmission mount. They give me back the vehicle and tell me all is fixed however it still vibrates I bring it back once again then dodge tells me it's internal to the transmission the torque converter. They give me a loner with no spare tire and no fuel. They call me and tell me it's fixed again. I bring it back again because now I have a check engine light on the engine. I seems every time they work on my truck they disconnect the battery which kills all codes. They then tell me it's fixed. They give me the vehicle and I check it out the check engine light comes on again at this point they tell me is a P0121 code and they have seen this before but can't fix it so they clear the code and tell me if it happens again bring it back. I go back the same day with the check engin light on , It's not November **, 2015. I tell Jeff the service manager to come out to my truck and show him the light is on once more. He then tells me it would be another service charge. I said to him " I brought the truck in and asked you get it running". Jeff say to me "It's running" I said " It's running like [redacted]" He then tells me "But it's running". At this point I tell Jeff to go [redacted] him self and brought the truck to [redacted] in [redacted] where I should have brought it in the first place. I did call corporate and they tell me there is nothing they could do. Its a franchise. Why did I ever buy a dodge and then go to this dealership. I wish I could give the negative stars instead onf one star. My advice to anyone out there "STAY AWAY for DOTCHESS DODGE".
