Review: I met with the owner [redacted] of East Coast Landscape Design and we discussed my plan on building a semi-circular driveway in my front yard. **. [redacted] indicated that he has a designer and that a design layout of the driveway would be completed for the project. He explained that the fee for the design is $400 and should his company get the job, the fee would be discounted in the contract price. I asked **. [redacted] if the fee include any design revisions and he said yes. I paid the full amount of $400 in the form of a check in that meeting. I asked [redacted] if his company handles obtaining the necessary permit for the work and he said yes. I waited over two weeks to get the design which was delayed because it was returned undeliverable by the post office to East Coast Landscape because of insufficient postage. When I finally received the design, I informed **. [redacted] that there were inaccurate measurements on the design and that they needed to be changed. To this date, the design has not been changed. In addition, I discovered that there was a code regulation in [redacted] County that restricts pavement of front yard that **. [redacted] failed to inform me. I found out about this by doing my own research while waiting for **. [redacted] to revise the design. Upon learning of this code, I contacted East Coast Landscape on Aug. 8, 2013 regarding their failure to inform me of the code and that I would be unable to continue with the project because of the code restriction. [redacted] informed me that **. [redacted] is out of town and would be back that weekend. [redacted] informed me that he would convey my message to **. [redacted] and that **. [redacted] would call me back. To date, I have not received a phone call or any type of communication from either **. [redacted] or East Coast.Desired Settlement: Refund of design fee in the full amount of $400

In regard to the complaint number stated above, East Coast Landscape Design has contacted the client and has come to an amicable resolution where East Coast will issue a check for a full refund of the purchase price of $400 and mail such check to the address on record by the end of August, 2013.
