We appreciate the opportunity to clarify what we think has happenedFirst off, when the student and the parent arrived at our school, they were already 15+ minutes lateI went over the school policy and the rules about tardiness on the first day of class, so the student already knew about having
to make up the classI told the parent that his daughter had to make up this lesson because she was late, which he seemed to understand at first, until he started to raise his voice because we were wasting his timeHe did not bother listening to any of the things I was saying, and kept yelling if there was a parental signature needed from him because both him and his wife worked and did not have any timeThis could have been solved efficiently if we had discussed this in a calm, kind manner, but that was not the caseI respected his time, but I believe he should have respected mine as wellI was in the middle of teaching a class; he was taking my time away and the students' as wellNot to mention, he was disrupting the whole business by yelling and swearing inappropriate words in a school environmentHis daughter was extremely polite and tried to calm him downIn his statement, he stated that our business failed to allow a parent to leave required parental signatures on standard forms, but the reason he was required to come to school was because he had to sign/initial those forms that were required for our schoolThey made their payment online, so they were not able to fill out and sign/initial the required documents, so I asked his daughter (as well as other students) on the first day if everyone without parental signature could bring one of their parent/legal guardians to sign/initial these documentsIt is not like we required parents to come on a specific date at a certain time to sign the documents; it could have been done either before or after the class when they were dropping or picking up their childrenLater on, he started to yell how unsatisfied he was with our business, so I told him I would give him a full refundHe demanded his money at the spot, but we only refund the money by the method of payment they usedI told him I would refund the money online because that was the method of payment his wife used for the $There must have been a misunderstanding because I can see that he mentioned in his statement that he went to our online website and did not find a way to process refundsHe cannot determine if I was lying or ignorant because of this misunderstandingI specifically mentioned that we can only refund the money by the method of payment he used, but he kept demanding the money on the spot, and then later on threatened to call the police if he did not receive the paymentWe emailed his wife telling her that the $she paid online will be refunded, and that it might take a couple days for her to receive it, and the remaining $will be sent to the address she provided because that was how the remaining $was paidWe refunded the FULL amount of payment on the same day, after the class was over, and no further complaint has been received about the refund.In all, our school regrets that the student was unable to finish the class because her father’s unproved anger.Thank you,Salah H***East Hill Driving School
