Good afternoon,In the resolution of this complaint, Ed Shultz of Warren sent a reply on 10/31/indicating that "a refund check was sent out the day after we received this notice." As of the writing of this message no check has arrived. In case the address was mistaken, I would like to clarify my mailing address to be *** *** *** *** *** ***.If you would please pass the message onto the business I would greatly appreciate it.Thank you.Sincerely,*** ***

Mr *** asked for a cooling system back flush we suggested a completesystem flush and he agreed to that I spoke with the technician who did the workhe told me he did not notice any excessive residue or back pressure during theflush When Mr *** called me I agreed to further diagnose
the vehicle atno charge We had a second technician took at the Jeep and he said the inlet hosewas hot and ths outlet was cold indicating a bad heater core and we recommendeda new one Mr *** declined The original flush included an additive to cleanthe system and both of my techs agreed that it is possibte that a second flush mayhave cleared the system but the blockage could come back.In the interest of goodwill I would be willing to reimburse Mr *** for the $75he spent at the other shop if he provides me a receipt from that shop.If I can be of further assistance please feel free to contact me.*** ***Gen MgrEd Shults of Warren, Inc

I have attached a Carfax vehicle history report for the vehicle Mr*** purchased. The report shows the vehicle was sold new at our dealership originally and serviced here regularly. It also shows that after Mr*** took ownership he had the vehicle NY state inspected and emission tested at a NY state inspection station. The vehicle was in good condition when he bought it and we would not have sold it to any customer (even as-is) if it were not. I'm sorry the engine failed but Mr*** was very knowledgeable about this vehicle and it's performance capabilities. I continue to believe the vehicle was over revved or raced and the fact Mr*** references a "pro tuning race shop" reinforces that belief. We value customer satisfaction but I don't believe we should be held responsible for a vehicle sold with no warranty and priced accordingly. Sincerely,Sean E***President/Gen Mgr

I was forced to seek out a specialty "race shop" because no Subaru dealer that I took the WRX to would look at it. I took the car to [redacted] Subaru and then to [redacted] Subaru both dealerships dined to look over the car because of modifications done to it. Modifications that were done to the vehicle prior to me purchasing it. Modifications that resulted in the failure of my engine after only 4000 miles. Attached is the service request form from [redacted].

lTell us why here...Mr. [redacted] purchased his car from us on 11/08/16.  The first we were informed of any problems or issues was in late April 2017 over 5 months after purchase and well outside of any typical used car warranty period.  However Mr. [redacted] purchased the car in as-is...

condition with no warranty.  He was well aware of this signing 5 documents acknowledging this (see attachments).  In addition to this Mr. [redacted] and the gentleman with him when he purchased the car both thoroughly checked over the car and spoke with our top Subaru technician who pointed out what had been done to the engine.  Mr. [redacted] stated to our technician he had a thorough understanding of car and it's performance features.  It is our view that Mr. [redacted] cannot hold us responsible for damage caused in all likelihood by over revving the engine or racing the car.   Sincerely, Sean E[redacted] Gen Mgr.

I checked with my office our check dated 10/23/17 has not cleared our bank.  my office manager is going to stop payment on the original check and reissue a new check.  the address we sent it to was [redacted] it did not come back through the mail.  we will send the new check today. Sean E[redacted],GM

I spoke with Mr. [redacted] the same day he made this complaint and had his refund issued immediately. The check was mailed the same day. I apologized for our staff somehow letting this full through the cracks. We generally have refunds issued within a month. Both my Assistant Office Manager and one of...

my Business Managers somehow overlooked this paperwork. I am in the process of reviewing our refund request process, specifically when a customer calls in rather than notifying us by mail.
Mr. [redacted] received a full refund from the date of cancellation and I assured him if he has any concerns in the future he can contact me directly.

If I can be of further assistance please feel free to contact me.

If Mr [redacted] sends me a complete copy of the receipt for the repairat the other garage that fixed his Jeep I will refund the $150 he spent with us.Sincerely,[redacted]General Mgr

a refund check was sent out the day after we received this notice.  the price of the vehicle was listed on the internet and was not increased at any point, I am assuming he is referring to the total cost including finance charges when he says the price was unacceptable.  Sean...

[redacted]  The mechanic the dealership had on speak with me, at no point disclosed the damage the TVG delete kit would do to my engine. The failure of the engine had nothing to with me being rough with it. When I purchased the car it had 47,012 miles, and as it sits at the repair shop it currently has 51,607 miles. So as you can see we barely drove the car after we purchased it, only putting 4,595 miles on it. Isn't it obvious that the damage to the engine was done during the 47,012 miles that the original owner put on it, compared to the 4,595 I did. Not to mention I have documentation that the reason the car engine failed is due to the TVG delete kit, from a certified COBB pro tuning race shop. Its hard to put the blame on the consumer. To me it seems like they bought a damaged vehicle then knowingly sold it to me, having their "Subaru guy" bless off on it saying it was okay to have that type of modification done.

as stated I was told a complete flush would fix my problem ( service mang ) and after paying $150 and driving it 5 miles it was obvious it was not fixed that is when I called service and was not treated very nice , so I called the owner and as stated it was not fixed again ( 25 mile drive each way ! now over 100 miles ) after 2nd visit was told I needed to spend $1400 that is why I took kit to a second garage , who had nothing good to say about ed shults jeep , anyways I did a PROPER  flush ( less than 10 miles from jeep garage ) I paid him and I think I should get a full refund as I had my jeep to them twice , leaving it all day each time and not having the problem fixed either time ? thank god I didn't spend the $1400 for a heater core that I didn't need ps to this day the jeep is STILL blowing heat Regards,

I spoke with Ms.[redacted] on Friday 05/26/17 and apologized for the miscommunication and mistakes we made while working on her car. I offered to reimburse her for the $498 she spent on the car as a goodwill gesture and I will review her concerns with my staff.Sean E[redacted]Gen MgrEd Shults of...

Review: on 02-03-2015 I had my jeep in for recalls I asked service about my heater only working ( blowing heat ) when vehicle idles and driving down the road it blows cold , I was told by service it needed to have a complete flush , he said it was a common problem with jeep liberty , so I let them have it for the whole day and when I picked it up $158.95 it was the same !! no heat going down the road ? I talked to service and he said I just asked for a coolant flush ? we had a argument and I spoke to the owner , he promised to loo into things since they didn't fix it and were saying I just asked for a coolant flush and said nothing about heat ?anyways I couldn't get vehicle back till 02-26-2015 less than 200 miles later and was told I need a new heater core ? $1267.78 !! if my heater core was plugged how did they do a system flush ??eater cores don't plug in less than 200 miles ( and I never leaked )I took it to another shop a few miles away and they were able to do a proper system flush !! for $75 and now my heat works all the time !! ps the only reason I had shults do the coolant flush is because the advisor I talked to assured me it would fix my problem and them being a jeep dealer they should know how to fix jeep problems ?Desired Settlement: I should be refunded my money for a incomplete coolant flush
