My 2013 Kia Optima left passenger door was painted the wrong color. The owner refused to repaint to the correct color without an additional cost.
8-30-19 I took my vehicle to said shop for estimate to 1.remove damaged left rear passenger door, 2.uninstall inner panel, 3.paint replacement door to match exterior of car, 4. install inner panel to replacement door and 5. reattach door to car. Quoted $452.88.The owner's son looked inside my car for the color code plaque, which he jotted down some numbers. On 9-3-19 I left the door at the shop for painting.On 9-6-19 I returned to the shop in my vehicle for the door attachment, waiting in the office area. When I went to inspect, I discovered the extreme difference in color. When I asked owner Ellis *** to repaint the door the correct color, he refused. He said I should have left the entire car there to ensure an exact match. I responded that at no point did he advise me verbally or in writing in advance of any chance of variants in the coloring. Ellis *** demanded full payment. I paid him $300.00, the amount I thought should deduct the cost of the paint.
I would like a refund of my $300.00 to take my vehicle to a reputable business to correct the paint job. Or for Hapeville Collision to redo the door the correct color.
The customer visited my shop on or about the nineth month of 2019 to do repairs and painting of her 2013 Kia . The job were very small and the customer were notified that the repairs would cost more to blend the finish to match the factory paint. She declined to spend the extra money to have this done . We did paint the vehicle with the original paint code that were for that vehicle.
I am sorry for her that things didn't work out I will still work with her to re-do her car if she wants to at an additional cost.The original price were slightly above cost.

I question the experience this establishment has due to the poor workermanship I received. Owner's tone became aggressive when I civilly expressed my dissatisfaction. Transaction resulted with me having a mismatched color car and him concluding that I had to pay additional money to correct it. Leave this business off your recommended list.

If the customer would reschedule an appointment and bring her car in to refinish the repairs . I will agree to repaint if no additional damages are present. Please call shop to make appointment .

I have spoken to the owner of Hapeville Collision and an appointment has been arranged to leave my vehicle with the establishment on Monday Aug. 3, 2020. The understanding we have come to is to repaint the left passenger *** matching the color of all exterior of the car. A completion date of Wednesday Aug. 5, 2020. And no cost to me for these corrective services. I will keep Revdex.com updated with the results.
