This letter is written in response to the complaint you received on 02/25/ID ***. I would like to start by saying that this customer didn't give me opportunity to resolve this issue before she filed the complaintI received a phone call from her on Saturday(02/25/17) around 3:pm
stating that the vehicle was running hot while sitting in front of her mothers houseI advised her not to drive the vehicle and to shut it off and let it cool down (plus years of automobile experience made this an educated decision) as I do know it is not good to drive a vehicle when it is overheating, a small problem can then become a big problemI told her I was going to send someone over to help her check the water and try and get the vehicle back to the car lot so that I could make arrangements to have the vehicle looked at by a certified mechanic, due to the fact that her "mechanic" was a man hanging out in the neighborhoodI immediately sent gentlemen from the car lot to try and help her and when they arrived to "help" her they were cursed at and threatened my men that were gathered around the vehicle and grilled to make decisions that they didn't have the authority to makeThe customer called me and wanted to know if I could give her a car to drive through the weekend No, I could not do that because of insurance regulations on my dealer platesThis is not unusual as I worked for a new car dealership for years and even a new car dealer doesn't provide a vehicle to drive unless the repair time is over a couple daysShe purchased a used vehicle with 157,plus miles on it and has been driving it for daysI offered her a ride home and explained that being it was on a Saturday afternoon it would probably be Monday morning before I could get the vehicle looked at and that I would call her with an updateI took the vehicle first thing Monday (2/27/17) morning to a reputable repair shop with certified mechanics and they found the water pump to be leaking(not the head gasket as she stated her "mechanic" told her it was, standing on the side of the road with no diagnostic equipment) I had them to replace the water pump and coolant at NO cost to this customer and the vehicle was able to be returned to her Monday( 02/27/17)Under a typical used car warranty (which only covers internally lubricated engine parts and internally lubricated transmission parts) the water pump is not a covered item, but out of good business and customer service we covered this item percentI personally don't think she could have received any better service in this city under the circumstancesWe strive to do good business and have a good rapport with our customers She filed this complaint, according to your letter on Saturday 02/25/17, the same day she called me , without giving me an opportunity to resolve the issueThis issue has now been resolved and to my knowledge the customer is completely satisfied with the outcome
