EZ Builders Group

Barn door installed by EZ in 2017 fell off wall last month. No response from company after phone calls, texts and certified letter.
I signed a contract with EZ for a kitchen remodel on 7/19/17. Purchase and installation of an interior barn door was included as part of the project. The total project cost was *** all billings were paid by personal check with the final payment made on 10/11/17 *** - ***

Upon my tendering the final payment on 10/11/17, the project foreman "***" gave me a 5 Year warranty document including the following language:

"EZ Builders Inc. hereby warrants all labor performed the above mentioned job site, in accordance with the contract, drawings, specifications alterations additions thereto, for 5 years from the date of the installation. This warranty does not include the materials themselves, or wear and tear from exposure to the elements of nature, and/or product abuse. Under this warranty, EZ Builders Group Inc. will be provided the opportunity to have one of its representatives assesses any damage identified to be caused by EZ Builders Group Inc. employees and/or material installed by EZ Builders Group Inc. If said damage is judged to be the fault of EZ Builders Group labor and installation, EZ Builders Group Inc. will at no cost to the homeowner, rectify the defective installation. It is understood and agreed that in the event of defects and necessity of making repairs, the owner will immediately notify EZ Builders Group Inc., as stated below, in writing, of its condition and give EZ Builders Group reasonable time to make said repairs."

At the time of the project completion (10/11/17), I was satisfied with the quality of all work performed by EZ Builders. The barn door worked fine, and there were no problems for at least one year. Over the last 6 months, I noticed that the barn door did not operate as smoothly as when installed, but was still operable. On the evening of 12/18/19 however, I closed the door but later it would not re-open, and I saw that the entire barn door track assembly had pulled out of the wall and the base of the door was now resting on the floor. I examined the track assembly, and noticed that it had been installed with plastic dry wall anchors which had failed. The barn door was no longer operational and needed to be re-installed with stronger dry wall anchors sufficient to hold the weight of the door.

I telephoned EZ Builders on 12/19/XX (XXX-XXX-XXXX) and left a message on their customer support line for someone to call me. I called again on 12/20/19 and left another message, while my wife texted "***" (XXX-XXX-XXXX) explaining the problem. We received no call back or responses. Because of the proximity of the holidays, we decided to wait until the first of the new year to continue our efforts.

On 1/2/20, my wife texted "***" again, but no response. On 1/3/20, I sent a letter (copy attached) by certified mail (XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX) to EZ Builders explaining the problem and demanded resolution.

I have received no response to the letter or any of our messages as of this date.

I cannot get anyone to answer my phone calls or emails to schedule someone to come back and fix/repair my kitchen
They finished my kitchen remodel summer 2018. On the contract that I signed, stated that I have a 5 year warranty on their remodel. They did not complete the kitchen...some drawer glides are MISSING, paint is peeling, base boards are cracking...etc. I have tried reaching out to someone/anyone at that company and they have not returned 1 of my phone calls. And half of the emails that I send are ignored. Recently I had finally received a response to have someone come out and do the repairs, and he didn't show up. I was not made aware that he would be a no-show as well. Very frustrating having nobody who seems to care enough over there to return an email or phone call

Their team was very knowledgeable when they visited my home for a consultation.

They provided great options and the pricing they offered was fair compared to their competitors in the area.

They were easy to reach when I had any questions or concerns and the project turned out very well.

Oct 25th, I contracted *** to help me design and build a patio cover. I gave them $3000.00 to start immediately. By Jan. 24-no designs
I was lied and mislead

October 25th - I hired *** to design and build a patio cover. Paid $500.00
October 31, 2017 - Paid. $2500.00 check. Rose texted me that the designs would be ready and I would have option
November 3, 2017 - Received text/email from rose. Architect will have designs next week.
November 9th, 2017 - Received text/email from *** They have designs ready -
November 12, 2017 - *** shows up with these pieces of sub-par designs. No measurement, no floor plan specification. My 6 year old niece could have done a better job
December 19th, 2017 - I am now pushing *** from results. No designs ready

December 27th, 2017 - *** texted me, "Great new city passed *** step. Then I asked what the 1st step was. Sharon texted back and said "The first step is design approval and engineering"
January 8th, 2017 - I went to County Office to check on my last steps for the pool I am having built. Since, I was there I asked about the patio cover. The COUNTY DOES NOT SHOW ANY RECORDS OF THE 1ST STEP BIENG APPROVED. I texted *** immediately. *** said, "He has it on it....." I have not heard from him since.
After being lied and mislead by *** for more than 90 days with regards to the designs of my patio roof. I decided to e-mail and leave a voice message for ***, the owner. I gave *** a full timeline of ***'s text and emails (which a I have copies of all of them). *** called me back. He began by letting me know he was disappointed that I had let the situation go on for so long, I should informed him earlier. Also, notably upset that I had place a comment on Yelp. I don't know why I continued with the conversation, but I did. I was, and still am, in need of a roof over my patio. Therefore, I just HOPED I could accomplish getting done.

A few days later he calls and lets me know that designs are at the City, that I should change my Yelp review because he was moving forward. I let him know that I wouldn't until I saw some results. By the way, I never saw the so called designs nor did I ever sign off and approved them. When I had my build, I signed off on MY designs and the County approved the design I wanted.

A couple of day after our conversation he send me an e-mail... Again, requesting to change my Yelp review because he had turned in some designs that I don't know if I am going to like them. So, I e-mail him back...

I am now more disappointing to know that as the owner of the company, the only thing you care about is the Yelp review.

When I spoke with you the first time, you immediately showed your disappointment. Rather than focusing on the problem, ***. You are focused on the reviews.

If you think that by forwarding the designs to the county, you have save the day. Then, you have no understanding of the problem nor do you care. 1st- I didn't approve the design before they were forward to the La Puente County Office, therefore, there is no guarantee I will like them or approve them. 2nd - This project should have been completed by now, 3rd the review was based on my overall experience of your organization.

At this point, I expect a full refund. However, he has declined. Therefore, I will continue to fight against a company such as EZ Builders so that no one else has to go through what they have put me through. I will fight to get my money back because it is not the amount of money it's the principal. Believe me, they are fast talkers that will take your money and forget about doing the job.

I was moving from LA to Boston and I had to sell my house. The kitchen and bathroom needed renovation to increase the price of the house. I hired EZ Builders Group to do it and believe me you, they did a great job. I highly recommend them.

EZ Builders did a GREAT job on our home remodel and we really enjoyed working with them. *** was one of 5 contractors we originally requested quotes from and he was the best combination of value and ability to start right away. The crew showed up on Day 1 and completed the entire demolition and kept a very tidy workplace. His team was very professional. We left a list of items to work on and they made sure to communicate where they had questions and sought our feedback. We were very happy with their worksmanship and diligence to completing the job. Our appliances were delayed in arriving and EZ Builders worked with us to make sure he would be on-site to install them and connect the gas and water lines. This team can be counted on and are considered reliable. *** is knowledgeable and is good at letting you know about potential pitfalls and presenting options. I really enjoyed working with EZ Builders and would be happy to serve as a reference in the future. Thank you for the follow through in getting this job done on budget and to our satisfaction.
