Revdex.com spoke with the businessAt the time of the customer's concern the $fee was for an overhaul that was done on the watchWhen that work came back the watch was working correctlyThe customer had a separate issue with the crown being removed and an attempt to put in back failedThe customer wanted the business to cover that cost, and when the business declined since that was not done in their shop the customer wanted a full refundA refund would not be given as the work paid for was performed and the new concern, the crown damage, was not caused by the business

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the offer and/or response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
There is no offer and their response is incorrect on the factsThe watch was overhauled and worked for monthsThe problem for which it was overhauled recurredIt was sent backAt that time the independent repair company did nothing but wind the watch everyday and claimed that it was working fineThis is a self-winding watch that should never be manually woundI did not know when it was returned that they had done nothing but wind itWhen the watch stopped again, I moved the watch back and forth to restart it and when I went to reset the time and date the crown fell outI have subsequently been told by another watchmaker that the independent repair company was definitely responsible for the crown falling outHowever that is a side issueI was returning the watch because it was continuously stopping-even on my wrist- which means that the repair had not solved the original problem that was to be correctedThe repair came with a year warrantyI wanted them to honor the warranty for the original repair or refund my payment for that repairThey said they would not and blamed me for the crown falling outMy watch that was supposed to be keeping time, but was not, should have been repaired again under the warrantyAdmittedly the crown falling out would have complicated that repair, but I believe, and have the word of another watch repair expert, that it was their fault that the crown fell out

wanted the business to cover that cost, and when the business declined since that was not done in their shop the customer wanted a full refund. A refund would not be given as the work paid for was performed and the new concern, the crown damage, was not caused by the business.
