If you want to do business with a bank strictly for checking and savings, you are fairly safe with Finex When you want something more difficult like a Health Savings Account, BEWARE! Such was my case I chose this bank because it offered a sign on bonus, as well as time and location convenience Everything was going well until I opened a Health Savings Account By doing so, it revealed all the faults and flaws of this so-called banking institution You see, even though an HSA is offered, there is only ONE employee who is close to competent enough to handle these type of accounts If you don't know what an HSA is, it is offered through your place of employment to pay for your prescriptions and the portion of your medical bills that insurance doesn't cover This is non-taxed money that is solely designated for medical expenses and the IRS watches them closely Any mishandling of the money results in taxation and/or fines Back to this wonderful bank: Finex has this wonderful system of designating account numbers--all your accounts have the same prefix--Ex: The suffix denotes which type of account--123456-would be your savings, 123456-would be your checking, and so on My problem most likely was caused by me, because I assumed that a bank could handle me having THREE accounts--savings, checking and an HSA I had direct deposit, and so each week my paycheck was sent to this institution, and someone was in charge of putting one amount into my HSA account and the rest in my checking Well, one week my HSA money would end up in my checking account, the next in my savings account Once in a while it would actually land in my HSA account Again let me restate that this HSA money is watched by the IRS and they don't like it when bumbling is can't put it in the proper account It got so bad that I had the Human Resources Manager at my job contact this ONE individual who knew about HSA's to try to come up with a solution to an ongoing problem Another "inconvenience" that I experienced with FINEX was going to the bank to make a transaction, only to find that ALL their branches and banking operations were closed due to Employee Training Did it ever occur to anyone to split up the training into may or groups at different time intervals so that the bank can remain open to customers??? When a problem would arise, I would go to the branch inside my local supermarket, to get it resolved When I presented the problem, all I ever heard was, "I apologize for what happened." I used to tell them to stop apologizing and come up with a solution I was later informed by the main branch that if I had a problem, to only come to the main branch, that the other branches were only familiar with opening accounts What ever happened to Cross Training, so that ALL employees could help in all banking matters? After several months of aggravation and frustration, I went to the main branch to close all my accounts I requested to see the ONE who knew everything about banking, but she was busy The teller told me she could close my accounts, and told me that for convenience, she would group all my accounts into one check I hit the roof, yelling at her that you can't mess with HSA money and you can't group everything into one check I waited for the ONE to be free She checked my accounts over to make sure they were clear, then proceeded to give me separate checks for my accounts Today, months later, I received a letter in the mail stating that I had been overdrawn by $and that if I didn't take care of this that I would be reported to the Credit Bureau I went to the bank to clear this matter up Apparently, when the accounts were closed many months ago, the $was pending on my checking account, which somehow the Banking Goddess overlooked When I asked to speak to anyone with knowledge about this, suddenly everyone was "going into a meeting" or was out of the office I paid the $and requested a letter be sent to me stating that my accounts were closed and no reporting was going to be made to the Credit Bureau As hard as it may be to believe, this bank has been in business for over years This banking institution reminds me of the 1960's sitcom "Green Acres", which was loaded with a bunch of bumbling is doing stupid things Only they got laughs...I'm not laughing!

If you want to do business with a bank strictly for checking and savings, you are fairly safe with Finex. When you want something more difficult like a Health Savings Account, BEWARE! Such was my case. I chose this bank because it offered a sign on bonus, as well as time and location convenience. Everything was going well until I opened a Health Savings Account. By doing so, it revealed all the faults and flaws of this so-called banking institution. You see, even though an HSA is offered, there is only ONE employee who is close to competent enough to handle these type of accounts. If you don't know what an HSA is, it is offered through your place of employment to pay for your prescriptions and the portion of your medical bills that insurance doesn't cover. This is non-taxed money that is solely designated for medical expenses and the IRS watches them closely. Any mishandling of the money results in taxation and/or fines. Back to this wonderful bank: Finex has this wonderful system of designating account numbers--all your accounts have the same prefix--Ex: 123456. The suffix denotes which type of account--123456-7 would be your savings, 123456-8 would be your checking, and so on. My problem most likely was caused by me, because I assumed that a bank could handle me having THREE accounts--savings, checking and an HSA. I had direct deposit, and so each week my paycheck was sent to this institution, and someone was in charge of putting one amount into my HSA account and the rest in my checking. Well, one week my HSA money would end up in my checking account, the next in my savings account. Once in a while it would actually land in my HSA account. Again let me restate that this HSA money is watched by the IRS and they don't like it when bumbling is can't put it in the proper account. It got so bad that I had the Human Resources Manager at my job contact this ONE individual who knew about HSA's to try to come up with a solution to an ongoing problem. Another "inconvenience" that I experienced with FINEX was going to the bank to make a transaction, only to find that ALL their branches and banking operations were closed due to Employee Training. Did it ever occur to anyone to split up the training into may 2 or 3 groups at different time intervals so that the bank can remain open to customers??? When a problem would arise, I would go to the branch inside my local supermarket, to get it resolved. When I presented the problem, all I ever heard was, "I apologize for what happened." I used to tell them to stop apologizing and come up with a solution. I was later informed by the main branch that if I had a problem, to only come to the main branch, that the other branches were only familiar with opening accounts. What ever happened to Cross Training, so that ALL employees could help in all banking matters? After several months of aggravation and frustration, I went to the main branch to close all my accounts. I requested to see the ONE who knew everything about banking, but she was busy. The teller told me she could close my accounts, and told me that for convenience, she would group all my accounts into one check. I hit the roof, yelling at her that you can't mess with HSA money and you can't group everything into one check. I waited for the ONE to be free. She checked my accounts over to make sure they were clear, then proceeded to give me separate checks for my accounts. Today, months later, I received a letter in the mail stating that I had been overdrawn by $4.02 and that if I didn't take care of this that I would be reported to the Credit Bureau. I went to the bank to clear this matter up. Apparently, when the accounts were closed many months ago, the $4.02 was pending on my checking account, which somehow the Banking Goddess overlooked. When I asked to speak to anyone with knowledge about this, suddenly everyone was "going into a meeting" or was out of the office. I paid the $4.02 and requested a letter be sent to me stating that my accounts were closed and no reporting was going to be made to the Credit Bureau. As hard as it may be to believe, this bank has been in business for over 35 years. This banking institution reminds me of the 1960's sitcom "Green Acres", which was loaded with a bunch of bumbling is doing stupid things. Only they got laughs...I'm not laughing!

Review: ON 09-10-2013 I HAD A SCHEDULED AMOUNT OF 2,168.49 TO BE DEDUCTED FROM MY CHECKING ACCOUNT. I MADE A DROP DEPOSIT AT THE VERNON BRANCH OF 135.00 DUE TO THEIR atm DEPOSIT MACHINE BEING OUT OF ORDER AND BEING REPAIRED AT THE TIME I REPORTED TO THE BRANCH TO DEPOSIT THE FUNDS SO THAT THE FUNDS WOULD BE IN MY CHECKING ACCOUNT. I WAS ADVISED THE DEPOSIT DROPPED IN THE DEPOSIT BOX GET DEPOSITED FIRST THING IN THE MORNING. I PULLED UP MY TRANSACTIONS ON 9-10-2013 AND WAS CHARGED A 27.00 COURTESY FEE ON THE SAME DATE THE TRANSANCTION FEE OF 2,168.49 WAS DEDUCTED AND 135.00 WAS CREDITED TO THE ACCOUNT. I SPOKE WITH SUPERVISOR [redacted] - I WAS TOLD BY HER THAT THE TRANSANCTION WAS DONE AT 6:41 AM AND THAT THE 135.00 DEPOSIT WAS KEYED IN AT 8:35AM. THE ISSUE WITH THE ATM MACHINE AND THE BANK REPRESENATIVE AT THE DRIVE UP WINDOW INFORMED ME THE FUNDS WOULD BE DEPOSITED THE NEXT BUSINESS DAY-IF TEH MACHINE WAS UP AND RUNNING THE FUNDS WOULD HAVE ALREADY BEEN IN MY ACCOUNT.

Product_Or_Service: CHECKING ACCOUNTDesired Settlement: DesiredSettlementID: Refund

I RESPECTFULLY REQUESTING THAT THE 27.00 BE REFUNDED DUE TO THEIR INCONVENIENCE OF THEIR MACHINE NOT BEING PROPERLY EQUIPED AND ALSO THE FACT THAT THE FUNDS WERE DEPOSITED THE SAME DAY OF THE TRANSANCTION.
