Firedex of Pittsburgh Reviews (1)

Review: My [redacted] agent on my behalf requested Firedex to come out during standard hours to remove a mirror in a bathroom so the plumber who was coming later in the week would have access behind the mirror.Firedex showed up and I let them in at approximately 3:00PM 11/21/13. The job took 20 - 30 minutes maximum and was completed that day. They were never called back to reinstall the mirror as that was never required.2 weeks late I received an invoice dated November 30, 2013 showing that this was a request for emergency services and a charge for $529.90 for Invoice #[redacted] for after hours arrival.I called and explained there must be a mistake as 1) I requested no same day requirements 2) whenever they can come out normal hours are fine 3)The job took all of 20 minutes. They stated they show the job was after hours and an emergency and had to charge me at a four hour minimum. I told them I would be willing to pay for even two men at a two hour minimum at $50.00 per hour which would be $200.00. They just refused as they claimed [redacted] paid me for their service which is misleading. [redacted] provided me a check for the entire Bathroom damage due to Pipe leaking and flooding of which I received $4,500 for the job that cost in excess of $6,000 plus materials. The paper work I signed at the time they removed the mirror only acknowledged they completed the work and did include any price or rate.I have not paid the invoice yet and am willing to pay provided a fair rate prevails. This in my opinion is a company that decided to grossly overcharge just because an Insurance company was involved.Desired Settlement: I am willing to have it arbitrated or pay a fair price of between $200 and $250.

FireDEX of Pittsburgh received a request for same day/emergency services at a property owned by the insured. The same day/emergency service was requested by [redacted] on November 21, 2013 at 1:13pm. The information was given to the on call responder for response to the service request On November 21,2013, the on call responder met with the insured, obtained the necessary work authorization and dispatched two technicians to perform the requested service.

The emergency service estimate/line item detail includes charges for two technicians each with a four hour minimum charge which includes service to protect the area of removal, removal of the mirror, drive time for the technicians to the warehouse, drive time to the job site and drive time back to the warehouse. On December 4.2013, FireDEX of Pittsburgh was advised by the [redacted] adjuster that our estimate/invoice was approved and paid in full to the insured directly, FireDEX of Pittsburgh invoiced the homeowner/insured for our payment.

On January 27, 2014, FireDEX of Pittsburgh received a call from the insured stating he received the invoice and does not feel he should pay the invoice because the amount was “too much”. The insured stated he only wanted to pay charges for two technicians each for two hours at $50.00 an hour., We explained our services were approved by [redacted], paid in full by [redacted] to the insured and due by the insured to FireDEX of Pittsburgh.
