This vehicle was dropped off at our location on 11/21/2016, customer had complaints of the car running rough and shakingOur technicians found DTC's ( Diagnostic trouble codes ) with our scanner; Using the codes we can go thru a series of various testing procedures to determine why the codes
are set in the computerUsing a professional battery tester we also found the battery was bad and needed replaced.p(bank one fuel trim too lean)p(bank two fuel trim too lean) A vacuum leak was found to be the culprit of the these two codesThe rubber boot in the intake plenum was torn and allowing the engine to suck in unwanted air and causing the fuel trim to be too lean.and p(MAP sensor poor performance)MAP sensor is the Manifold Absolute Posisiton Sensor The MAp sensor was physically broke, causing it to malfunction and therfore making the engine run rough(also causing the pcode to appear) Like with all of our customers, the next step is to call them and discuss plans for repairI personally called Mrs*** and explained to her the issue previously mentionedLike with all of our customers, I explained to her that we must address these issues first before further diagnosingMrs.*** approved the work for $371.86,(which included $for a used battery and installation) and we replaced the torn boot and the MAP sensorThe vehicle ran smooth and was not jumping, and no dtc's were set in the computerThe customer paid in full with a mastercard, (NOT CASH AS SHE STATED), and drove the car out of our parking lot. We did not hear from them at all until December 19th, when they dropped the vehicle off again and said the car was shaking again and running rough.I was on vacation at that time but returned on Dec, 26thUpon arrival I found The DTC's present in the computer was p( Camshaft position correlation ) and p(random cylinder misfire). pin generic terms, means that the crankshaft and camshaft sensors aren't working together in balanced harmonythis can be cause by a few thingsdamage to the timing chain or tensionersmisalignment of the timing chain3.damaged crankshaft or camshaftdamaged cam or crank sensor.more info can be found here.https://www.obd-codes.com/p0016after further diagnosis I found the sensors were in working condition, leaving us only internal parts to examineI contacted the customer and explained the issues found and informed her that the timming componens in her engine were control with oil pressure and contaminated oil could casue issues with such componentsShe claimed that they had just changed the oil and didn't want to try thatOnly option left was to dismantle the engine and examine the internal partsI explained that the cost could be up to $to replace the timing chain and its related components and more if internal engine damage was found She said she didn't have that kind of money and picked up the vehicle with no complaints. pis a random misfire codeWhen there are internal issues with an engine mutiple codes can be set in the computerWe call these fault codes, or codes that are present due to other issuesin this case an internal issue was causing a misfire and therfore setting the misfire code. There are dozens of reasons a vehicle could be running roughWe are technicians with years and years of experience along with happy customersWe are known for being kind, honest, and fairWe are not miracle workers and we can not predict the futureWhen problems are present and the vehicle is in our care, we can diagnose and correct those problemsWe also have no control on how well people treat ther vehicles, regualr maintenance is required for all vehicles to remain in proper working order. We warranty our work and If these problems were occuring when they picked up thier vehicle on 11/then the customer should have made us aware and we could have helped themAlso when they picked up the vehicle the second time they didn't make any complaints or inquires

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that the response would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
Regards,
Okay in the first place like I said you diagnosed the vehicle, we didn't and the oil was changed in the vehicle. You were supposed to fix what was wrong with the car and you didn't is my problem and didn't you warrant your work for some time, when we called back nobody got the phone then when I finally spoke with your worker he said he couldn't diagnose the car cause you were on vacation, so my son bought the car back out there in which time it sat for two weeks before you called me cause he said the car was doing the same thing. My husband talked to you last, I don't know what you talked about but he said you didn't know what was wrong with the car it sat out there another week of longer after I spoke with you. So why didn't you see what was wrong with the car cause at this point you were guessing and you never fixed the problem at first, that is my problem if you warranted your work and after he picked the car up it still doing the same thing. Did you fix what was wrong with it or were you guessing trying to get money? If you knew what was wrong with the car common sense if you found a different diagnosed 3 weeks later than you should have found this diagnose at first the car doing exactly the same thing. So that further lets me know why would I let you go in the motor when you didn't know what the problem was at first the problem didn't change it is still missing and jumping. Now why did my son pay you for something that you didn't fix we didn't diagnose the car you did so a month later even if it were 2 months later the same problem different diagnostic you didn't know what you were doing and you should have stated that when I asked did you work on Northstar engines. How do you have workers that can't do diagnostics, that speaks for itself.  Now I am highly pissed cause I had other people that would have worked on the car but because you diagnosed the car wrong it is still sitting in the driveway tore up cause of you, cause I don't want nobody to go behind you and I want my car fixed right. As far as the payment it don't matter you still were paid rather cash or card I wasn't there so what is the big deal. You got paid for not fixing my car. When you said oil needed changing, I knew you didn't know what you were doing cause oil stays changed in every vehicle I own and always has but you told me the oil was black flat out lie cause it had just been changed the system may not have been set but it only had from here to there with the new oil change  [redacted]
