fertilizations of your lawn, a liquid aeration service to help with soil compaction of your lawn, and a fungicide application to help control fungus activity. Your technician on July 25th, 2016, had noted that your lawn was suffering from bare areas and Ascochyta Leaf Blight, a common lawn disease in [redacted], which can be treated with a fungicide application, which we performed as a complimentary service for your property.  We returned on September 19th, 2016, to perform this turf fungicide application (regularly a $89.00 value), after you had spoken with one of our Managers. After this complimentary visit, our Manager had attempted to reach out to you multiple times following up on the status of your lawn, and we received a response on October 27th, 2016, which was an email request to cancel services at your property. Since that date we have not performed any services at your home and apologize if after the 2016/2017 Winter/Spring seasons that the lawn had begun to look worse than it did during 2016, requiring new soil and seeding.  We were very sad to see that you had chosen to discontinue services with us after we performed your complimentary visit on September 19th, 2016. After our management inspected the pictures you had sent to us recently, we determined that the new damage appeared to be caused by mites, which has affected not just your lawn, but many lawns across metro [redacted] and the Front Range. Unfortunately, this year has been unseasonably warm and unseasonably dry up until a couple months ago.  With a season like this, the conditions during the early part of 2017 contributed to drought stress and also increased the likelihood of mite activity and subsequent damage. As we haven’t serviced your property since last year, we would not have been able to identify early on this mite condition affecting your lawn nor provide you our mite control services to help with this condition. Early detection and applications of insecticides are crucial to stop the mite activity, and any damage caused by these mites even then takes time and special care to recover.  In some rare instances, if the damage is severe or very large, it may even require re-seeding or re-sodding of the areas affected.  Severe damage from mites is much more prevalent during warm Winters, such as the Winter we experienced 2016 into 2017, and it is not uncommon that mites may affect one property while leaving a neighboring property without damage. We are very sorry if your lawn was damaged by mites earlier this year, however, this damage would have occurred after your services with Fit Turf were cancelled, and none of the services we provided you during 2016 would’ve caused this mite damage.We performed fertilization, liquid aeration, and fungicide services as had been ordered to help your lawn during 2016, and the total amount paid to us, $177.00, is valid charges for the services rendered and will not be refunded at this time.We do appreciate your feedback and would like to wish you a happy Summer season and thank you for the opportunity to assist with your property's needs.
