Ms. [redacted], We understand the inconvenience of your awning coming off of your home. Please keep in mind that the installation of this awning was over 8 months ago and the night that it blew off your home there was 75 mph Gail force winds throughout the Rochester area. Many homes had all kinds of...

damages from blown off siding, uprooted trees, and ripped off shingles. When you contacted us we offered to come back out and rehang the awning, however I stated there would be a service fee for the labor. I did not hear back from you on moving forward with scheduling, so we were under in impression you did not want our services. We would be happy to come back out and rehang the awning, however there will be a service change since the awning blew off your home during a wind storm. Please let us know if you would like to proceed. Thank you

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
Fitch, not only not standing behind their work, now they are exaggerating facts. The awnings they refer to were on the house when we purchased it in 1980, and for that 36 plus years endured the Rochester elements, which includes high winds. Which they exaggerated as well. It isn't bad enough it took them 5 months to install the awnings, at that time I was understanding of whatever reasons they gave for the months of delays, even when the awnings were not only installed incorrectly, in addition they hacked off the wrong one. Bottom line is they were not making any money off the job, therefor It was not a priority. The awnings had to be put together on the job site (cheap material) and on a second story window that the installers did not have the proper equipment to safety and securely do an installation. Fitch should have never taken a job they were not capable of doing and I am appalled at the way my job was treated.
Regards,
[redacted]

Please see the attached contract that was signed 4/10/2017. It looks as if the awning we fixed had been damaged before in a windstorm, which contradicts what the customer had stated about the previous awning prior to our installation. I have also included a warranty certificate for our labor workmanship. Please remember there was a wind storm with 75mph winds, causing this awning to blow off, and according to the contract it happened previously as well. We would be glad to come out and rehang the awning, however there will be a service fee since the awning did come down due to our installation rather the high winds were responsible.

I have reviewed...

the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.  This is in reply to your letter of April 23, 2015 in which you reported on your contact with Fitch construction about the complaint I lodged. They indeed have contacted me, returned the deposit and indicated that they will do the work for the originally quoted price. They have the materials in hand, according to [redacted] who called me on April 24, and have made arrangements with me to commence the work on April 28. I will pay them in full when they have completed the work. I appreciate your efforts on my behalf and it appears that Fitch Construction is going to satisfy the contractual agreement. I will inform you when all work is done satisfactorily.

[redacted]Consumer sent update: This is in reference to complaint [redacted] concerning Fitch Construction, Inc. Fitch completed the job on April 27 and met the stipulations of their contract with me. In fact I have to give them considerable credit in the way in which they handled the job. [redacted] was on site early and talked to me about what I specifically wanted. He returned later to make sure that the work was satisfactory. The workmen were pleasant and performed their tasks well. The finished job, a stainless steel cable railing, is everything that I envisioned. Even though we had some problems at first I would recommend Fitch if asked. I would also be willing to allow Fitch customers to view the completed job as a reference. I have paid the balance due on the contract as of today. Thank you for your help in this matter. Yours, truly, [redacted]

I was contacted Friday. I have an appointment Monday 6/26/17 @ 9:00 am

Revdex.com spoke to David at business and the following was relayed: We are currently waiting on her [redacted] cabinets. We have been in contact with the consumer approximately once a week, we will reach out to the customer again. We have a promise date from [redacted] cabinets for 12/15. We are ready to...

install as soon as they arrive.

I checked with our accounting department and all of [redacted] credit card money was returned to her (them) credit card company as [redacted] must know as she had the credit card charges reversed several times.   At the time of signing the Agreement with our [redacted] Sales-Technician - [redacted]...

did not require the installation to be started on a particular day or start/finish the work by a specific date. Furthermore she signed the Agreement that a specific date wasn’t even important. The product we had to purchase for her home comes from out of State and we have to wait until they arrive at our Shop. When we arrived to install the sun tunnels she had changed her mind and didn’t want them Installed.  We now have $1,400 in materials, purchased for [redacted]’s house. We can’t return them for a refund and we have already paid for them with our own money. David C. President

We hope this letter
finds you well. We wanted to reach out to the Revdex.com regarding
the recently posted complaint about Fitch Construction, Inc. For the entire
duration of this bathroom remodel our primary concern has always been the
happiness and satisfaction of our customer....

This was the second project that
the [redacted] Family had hired Fitch Construction, Inc. to complete. They were so
delighted with the sunroom we constructed they asked us to come back and
complete a full bathroom remodel. We have provided a
detailed timeline of the events that have taken place throughout this bathroom
remodel project. In reviewing this timeline it can be seen that Fitch
Construction has been extremely attentive to the customer’s questions, change
orders, and satisfaction. The completed signed contract and deposit was
taken on 10/19/2015 for a full bathroom remodel. The
project did not begin until 6/13/2016 due to customer selection and design
changes. The bathroom and shower was completed on 7/15/2016 with the shower
door being installed and the last of a small few punch list items to wrap up.
The average full bathroom remodel takes between 3-6 weeks depending on the
bathroom size. At this point the customer was unhappy with the shower head
height above the shower door along with the way the tile sat on the shower
walls and around the shower window. Fitch Construction wanted to make sure our
customer was absolutely satisfied, leading us to the re-demo of the shower on
10/14/2016. Please keep in mind that the customer had a fully functioning
shower in which they used between July and October of 2016. To accommodate our customer during
the re-demo and replacement shower tiles coming in, Fitch Construction placed
plastic over the shower walls allowing them to still have use of their shower.
The customers refused to use this temporary shower in fear that water would
leak and cause damage.  Shortly after the
re-demo began a claim was issued for the 12”x 24” shower tiles for possible
“convexing”, through [redacted], our supplier, and [redacted], the manufacturer.
Due to the claim investigation process this caused a delay in the project.
Additional tile was ordered during the claim with the hope it was not defective
as well. Subsequently, it was proven the tile fell within the allowed
tolerances of the product, but was not to the satisfaction of the customer.  We were able to find a smaller 10” x 14”
shower tile in replacement.  A temporary
shower liner was re-offered again on 1/4/2017. The customer did not respond in
agreement until 1/9/2017 later afternoon, in which the temporary liner was
installed the morning of 1/10/2017.  The
new 10” x 14” tile is due to arrive to the Fitch shop on 1/19/17.  We will be returning to the [redacted] residence
on 1/23/17 to install the new tile in the shower.  After that we will install the shower door,
and complete the remainder of the punch list items.  Sincerely, Fitch Construction, Inc.

I came across this company at the home show and scheduled an appointment with them to come out to my house and give me a quote for building a new front porch. No one ever showed or called. 45 minutes after they were supposed to show, I called to find out what happened. They apologized and rescheduled. They again never showed or called. I then came here to the Revdex.com site to check their history and found this is the way they operate. I guess I'm glad they didn't show, and glad I referenced this site to find their poor business practices and NOT get involved with them

In short, we contracted with a project date of 7/10 through 7/25. The project commenced 10/8 and was completed 10/21; 3 months overdue. It has been a difficult process with Fitch- timelines not honored, extremely poor or nonexistent communication, complete lack of accountability. Though the final product was acceptable, it would be a disservice to recommend this company to anyone unless they are willing to endure such frustrations.

Revdex.com spoke to David at business and the following was relayed: We did a kitchen remodel and sunroom addition for the customer. We did contact [redacted] about the cabinetry, they said no to replacing their cabinet with a new one. If customer wants a new cabinet they will have to take that up with...

[redacted] as they are the manufacturer. We are installing a replacement skin for the customer in the hopes that this will remedy and resolve the situation. We will be calling Mr. [redacted] to inform.
