Review: Signed a 2year contract - which they will not let you out of. Have sent certified letter last year and recent notification to end contract and stop drafting from my checking account. I have not been in the gym in over a year, yet they keep drafting.I have recently notified bank and will not them allow any more drafts.Desired Settlement: STOP drafting and do not charge any fees as of 2/13 [2-weeks]

Review: I have asked these people to stop billing me now since May which would have been one year with them. I literally called them in April and said DO NOT Bill me after this month because I am moving. I have gone in and spoken to the team upfront and had them remove me. This is the fourth time that I have been billed after I cancelled from this gym. I want my money back because I have not been to this gym since April and moved 50 miles away from it with a gym in my apt. These folks have gave me the run around so many times that I do not know what to do. They are literally stealing from me and I have know where to turn.Desired Settlement: $ 60.00 what they have stolen from me.

Well for the past three months which leads to June of 2014 they where still charging my account $29.99 for each month so I have sent another letter to pilot mtn and they still said they did not get those letters. Finally I sent one last letter so this would make 4 letters I have sent to cancel my membership by certified mail and know they have not said or done anything yet but so far they have charged me $120.00 so please if you can help me I would greatly appreciate it. Review: There is a large sign in front of this gym with 2 soldiers saluting a flag. the caption reads: "Fitness 200 Salutes our Military Military Personnel Workout Free".I walk in with my military ID card and as it turn out I must either pay 19.99/month or go out and find someone to pay $19.99/month. If I find them a member to pay full price, then I can get a free membership. How is that free? If I pay $19.99/month I get to workout for free? That is false advertisement.Desired Settlement: If you want to have a sign that reads "Military Personnel Workout Free". Then military personnel workout for free.

Also, my debit card was stolen. I ordered a new one but it has not come in yet. In the interim, the charge was rejected so they charged a $25 fee. Twin Oaks stated only the Gym can reimburse the fee. So I called the gym and they said no, Twin Oaks. Called Twin Oaks back and they said the gym - so I guess it's a game to everyone. I then asked for a copy of my contract which I DID NOT get at the time of signup and they told me I had to pay $5 for the contract. What is the deal here? I asked to speak with the owner, Larry M[redacted], and I was told "no". Additionally, Ralph made it clear that I had not used the membership - not sure how that applies to the situation at hand - but he is correct. But let me tell you why......the last time I visited the establishment I fell off the treadmill. I hurt myself, not only bleeding but significant pains in my left leg. I have been unable to do much since that time. I chose not to pursue action against the gym (and there were many witnesses including an employee that did not offer to do an incident report and apparently didn't mark anything in the account either). If you prefer at this time, I will complete an incident report and reach out to the witnesses and pass on medical tests as necessary.Desired Settlement: I would like the $25 fee reimbursed to me as I will be making payment to the agency today. Additionally I would like to have my membership cancelled with no repercussions.If that is not feesible please let me know. I will then roll back time and address my injuries.

Review: This company requires you to send a certified letter to cancel your contract. When you do, it takes them an entire month to pick up the certified letter from the post office. Then it takes them another month to cancel the contract. Then once you cancel, they have a maintenance fee that they charge you. You cannot speak to a Manager/Owner, they won't allow it. Scam artists!Desired Settlement: Remove the maintenance fee, I don't have a contract with you any more. Nor will I ever suggest someone join this gym.

Review: I signed a 1 year contract with Fitness 2000 in King, NC. After my one year waso up, I contacted them requesting my membership be cancelled because I had moved and could no longer go to this gym. They informed me that to do so, I would need to write a letter with this request and send it to a PO Box address in Pilot Mountain. I did this and after 2 months I realized they were still drafting the monthly fee from my account. I called my bank and requested that the automatic draft be stopped because I had already cancelled my membership. 4 months later I received a call from "[redacted]" telling me that I had an outstanding balance of around $75. I explained that I had cancelled but they said that nobody ever did so. I called the gym to find out what I needed to do. The woman that answered the phone asked my name and looked up my account and said that they have no record of receiving my letter and I should have gotten it certified so that I would have a record of it (they did not tell me this before) and told me that I would have to pay off the balance, which is now over $100 before they would cancel my membership. She wouldn't give me the mailing address to cancel but continued to tell me that I had to pay it off or it wouldn't be cancelled. I haven't stepped foot in this gym for over a year but I'm still paying for it. If I would've known how incredibly difficult it was to cancel a membership I would have NEVER signed up. Also I know other members from this gym that have not written the letter to cancel but only called the bank to stop the monthly draft and they were not punished and was never harassed by calls saying they had an outstanding balance.Desired Settlement: I would like this outstanding balance to be cleared and for my membership to be completely cancelled.
