contractor has been promising me. For over a year. That they are coming to fix deficiencies. They were close to my location about a month ago. There is numerous defects in the workmanship. Dents in window sill. Some of the new siding has pieces (broken). Some bent trim on facia and soffit. Payment has been made in full to this contractor. This is reason given for not coming back. Is that they won't get paid for work. They already got paid. But don't want to do the warranty work. I have tried several occasions to get them here with out any luck. They were paid through [redacted] and some deposit of my cash.I have been dealing with [redacted]Desired SettlementFix all deficiencies he said they would.Business Response 1. The window was put in the garage overnite. The next morning the customers dog (Puppy) had chewed on the window frame. We can change the sill for a charge as the damage was not caused by us or covered by manufacture warranty.2. The siding was not broken when the installer completed the job. We need to evaluate what caused the breakage.3. We will change the bent trims on the soffit and facia at no additional cost to the customer.4. [redacted] calls clients to verify that the work was completed to their satisfaction once the work is completed before releasing funding.Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)1 the dog has no access to the garage at night. there fore dog could not have chewed it, at night. [redacted]2 The siding has a lifetime warranty. I assume it should have lasted more than a week before breaking.4 ** asks if job was complete.Final Business Response The crew is contacting [redacted] to do repairs on Monday and /or Tuesday Aug. 22, 23 2016Final Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)the crew made it out today and repaired all the issues. Thanks for your help!

Complaint[redacted] We signed a contract with FIX building products on 20th Sept 2014 to put in new shingles in 2015 and gave a cheque for a deposit of $6000We were contacted by the Coy in spring 2015 and we advised we were not ready to proceed. In February 2016 my wife rang the FIX building products and spoke with [redacted] to inform the coy that we do not wish to go ahead with putting in new shingles. she was advised they would look into it and get back to her, which they never did. On February 15th 2016 I sent in a formal letter to cancel the contract ,as my wife was advised we needed to send in a formal letter. [redacted] has confirmed this had been received .Two weeks after, we rang for an update and was told they would talk to the boss/owner and get back to us, since my wife heard nothing from them after a week she rang back and was told the boss is away and would be back next Thursday of course they never got back to us . when she rang back which she was advised the boss was the boss hadn't come in to the office yet , on one occasion she was told that the boss said we can not get a refund, they would need to put in the shingles, I advised that we had a choice not to go ahead with them if we so wished as it is within our rights if we decided not to go ahead with them.[redacted] what we are asking is our refund as we have also since realized the cost they are also quoting is exorbitant.( $28,500 to replace our shingles). They claim to have purchased the materials however this can not be true as nobody has ever come to take roof measurements! [redacted]Desired SettlementRefund of $6000Business Response Upon reviewing this contract Fix tried several times to schedule this job to be done. I checked out pricing for this kind of job and find that the pricing is in line. I have been in contact with Consumer Protection Branch and at this point Fix has incurred costs to execute the job. Sales staff have been paid as well as administration fees. We can not refund the full amount. Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)The business only contacted us once to schedule the job not several times as alleged.we have also incurred costs as well, we have tried several times to speak with the owner without success by phone, in addition we had to send our last written request by courier.[redacted]Final Business Response [redacted]. I put in a request to refund your deposit minus administration fees and commissions paid. Head office will be printing a check and will be mailed out to you in the next few weeks.Final Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)while it was commendable in the business proposing to send a refund they were silent on the amount that will be refunded and the time frame, a few weeks could be 2 weeks or could be 20 weeks .[redacted]

This company had a contract to replace shingles, now the roof leaks and they are not responding to numerous calls to fix the problemI hired Fix Building Products to do renovations on our home, the roof was one the projects to be addressed. They sub contracted another company to replace the shingles. This was done in late summer of 2013. In spring of 2014 we started getting water in our home from a leaking roof. We called Fix numerous times that summer and finally they sent out a contractor to repair the problem, he patched it. In May of 2015 the roof began to leak again. Since then I've been calling them to fix this and they keep putting us off with excuses such as not enough people available or something else wrong with our roof. Either way our roof leaks and this company we paid to do the job hasn't offered any help or solutions to correct a problem they created. We were charged approximately 16,000.00 for this part of the reno and were told that we had their guarantee. [redacted] Desired SettlementI want them to give me my money back. I have had to contact another company to address the problem and I would like them to give me my money back or to pay the other company for doing the work that they should have done last year when I first called.Business Response [redacted]I am sending a roofing Company to complete the work by the end of next week.[redacted] will be contacting [redacted] today.Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)[redacted] On July 18 we had workers here to repair our roof and they were here for the full day so we knew it wasn't just for a quick fix but an actual repair. After they were done, we had no idea if our roof was fixed or not until it rained, the only way to tell if the roof would leak or not. On July 31 we were pummelled by a fantastic storm, approximately 60 mm's and to our delight none of it leaked through the roof. We still have issues with the water damage from when our roof was leaking and are seeking a response through our home insurance. If there are significant damages we believe that Fix should be held responsible.Final Business Response Please update us with pictures of the damage along with any home insurance documentation of damaged incurred.

Incomplete work, damaged caused by work performedJune 24, 2014 initial contract was signed. The work was extensive and included stonework to the fireplace, installing a railing, tile back splash, spray foam garage, drywall, garage doors etc. for a cost of $37,923.00. A deposit of $12,000. was given and work commenced July. [redacted] was the sales rep who assured that the work would be done by employees but it was determined they were contractors. They damaged hardwood floors when removing tape and attempted to fix but made it worse. The garage doors were incorrect and had to be reordered. The parts were wrong as well. The "employees" drilled holes into existing wiring causing damage to the garage. After several failed attempts to contact [redacted] and have the work completed many months later he sent a company to repair the hardwood floors. The repair was not to our satisfaction since it was just an application of high gloss and the marks remained visible. [redacted] agreed to pay for the damaged wiring but has since reneged. [redacted]. It is impossible to reach them by email or phone. I paid the entire amount prior to completion on the promise from [redacted] that the work would be done right away. He came to me saying that his office was making him collect the money even though the work was not completed. I did so in good faith but have yet to be satisfied. There is work still outstanding a year later. Note: I have paid the electrical repairs directly to the company that did the repairs to avoid any misunderstandings with that company however Fix is responsible for these costs and the work that remains unfinished. An email has been sent back to them requesting payment be sent to me for the repairs. [redacted] A total of $37,923.00 was paid in full. Desired SettlementI expect payment of the electrical bill to be reimbursed and the work to be completed to my satisfaction.Business Response Because we are a renovation company much of our work is performed by subcontracters that have subbed work from us for many years and are reliable. It was determined that refininishing the floor would be split between the home owner and Fix because it wasn't completely damaged by the subcontracter (not employee). At no time was there a threat not to pay the hardwood refinishing bill, it's been paid, in full by Fix. We are prepared to pay the home owner back for the electrical bill he paid. The check will be mailed to him directly in the next two weeks andthe unfinished drywall cut for the electrical will be finished as well.Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)I was assured by the sales rep prior to any commencement of work, that the work would be done by employees and not contractors. This was a major reason for deciding to go with this company. [redacted].The hardwood floors did not need to be refinished prior to Fix coming, that said why would we pay for half of the damage caused by Fix? To elaborate...The damage from the tape that held down a tarp (used under scaffolding) was brought to [redacted]'s attention. He instructed one of the "employees/contractors" to attempt to fix with a sponge brush, sand paper and stain, while this area was still wet from the stain [redacted] walked on it with his shoes! The footprint was embedded in the finish! [redacted]! There was several areas that were damaged from said tape. To date the floor remains unsightly with the exception of a high gloss finish that was applied. When I questioned the individual that was here to do the floors he said that Fix would only allow for the finish to be put on and although there would remain damage it would not be as visible. It is still not what it was before Fix came to do the work.[redacted].There are two places in the garage area that remain unfinished - drywall needs to be finished.I anxiously await the arrival of the cheque to reimburse for electrical work. I would appreciate a specific date and time whereby I can expect the repairs to the garage to be done. Final Business Response WE contacted Mr. [redacted] a few weeks ago and he was not going to be home at that time. However [redacted] (an employee) will be in Yorkton the week of Sept. 14'th and will commence to finish the drywall job. Final Consumer Response [redacted] Everything is fixed. Thank you very much for all your help. It took quite a while.

Complaint[redacted] In Sept. 2009 we signed a contract with Fix Building Products to build a roof over our deck. After 2 yrs. the shingles started curling. Have tried to contact Fix 5 times last year and 4 tuimes this year. Did talk to owner in May was the only time we were contacted back. He stated he would be out that weekend and would definitely look after the problen. Have not heard from him since. We tried calling and asking for a call back. To date that has not happened. [redacted]Desired SettlementWe would like the shingles on our deck roof to be replaced.Business Response Sorry for the delay in responding, I have been away. Fix Building Products is looking into the problem of the shingles curling over the deck. We are in contact with the manufacture to determine if faulty product was used and if there was any weather related issues. At this time of year we will need to proceed with changing them out in the spring.Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)We would like in writing that they will change ourshingles in the spring, at no cost to us.Final Business Response Our project manager seen the [redacted]'s this week. We are replacing the shingles as per her complaint. Shingles are being delivered around the 8'th of Sept.
