Fix Restoration Reviews (4)

I was a client of Flood Impact Experts and were were quoted a price for a rebuild of our bathroom. It was all completed by sub-trades and we paid in full. Turns out the sub-contractor that put in all the cabinets was not paid. He was given the run-around by FIX and told that they had problems with their receivables and he would pay him over several weeks....it never happened. He kept going to get paid and was give the same old story. We feel badly about this since the work was all done to our satisfaction and FIX has our money but will not pay the Sub. Obviously they are having cash flow problems so would stay clear of them.

Review: I had a flood caused from a leak in my toilet. I contacted flood impact xperts and they came out following morning and immediately started tearing out all of the wet carpet and baseboards. He tried to leave all tact strips behind, but I informed him he needed to remove them because I have small children and it would be dangerous to leave them behind. He missed a strip and my two year old son cut his toe on it. The next day they came out a removed the bathroom flooring where the flood started and removed my vanity, toilet, set up fans and a dehumidifier. They were trying to haul away the vanity and toilet and I told them not to. Good thing I didn't let them because my insurance check did not cover these items. The following day I noticed a big crack in my foundation. I then tried contacting the company but all their phone numbers were changed. I finally got in touch with a women named [redacted] and informed her of my concerns and she acted as if it was not her problem. They sent me an invoice via email soon after. I reviewed the invoice and noticed that there was charges on the invoice for work that was not performed. I then got back in touch with [redacted] and asked her for someone to come out with photos and a corrected invoice, as well as to see the crack that appeared from a nail they removed in the cement flooring. I contacted my insurance company about the crack and they said that would be a workmen's compensation issue on Flood Impact Xperts. I didn't hear anything for quit sometime. A few weeks later I got a message from [redacted] (employee of Flood Impact Xperts) and I tried calling him back and got no response. I then got another letter in mail saying my invoice is going to be sent to collections. I contacted [redacted] (employee) again and told her that the invoice was wrong and they needed to have someone sent out with the pictures and corrected invoice that I requested months before. She was very rude to me and said, " a tact strip removal would not cause a "freakin" crack in your floor". I tried to explain that it was a nail not a tact strip, but she would not listen. She then said she would contact someone to come out and she hung up on me.Desired Settlement: 1. Corrected invoice for charges on work that was not completed.

2. For Flood Impact Xperts to file with their workman's comp for crack they created in the cement foundation of my house and/or

3. To fix or pay for someone to fix the crack in the cement foundation of my house that they caused.

Business

Response:

After meeting with the Home Owner and showing her photos of the crack in the floor before we removed any tack strip then receiving the pre-lien on her home in the mail she informed us that she spent our money and will set up a payment plan with us to pay us the money that is owed. One closet was not torn out of flooring therefore her invoice was reduced, satisfactorily, by $6.

Awful all around experience. Ross came to us looking for help in training and with an asbestos project. My company has all work authorizations and proper paperwork. FIX was paid for there work and now they refuse to pay us for our experiences and Ross is awful to work with. DO NOT SUBCONTRACT for them unless you enjoy doing your work for free.

Flood Impact Xperts will not pay our invoices, as a sub retained by them to assist their services, even after it was confirmed with their client that they were paid for our work.
