This complaint is done by Mr. [redacted]. And, Mrs. [redacted] is the customer – the one that signed the contract.Job was originally scheduled for 3/31-4/2/16 (3 days). Customer called and rescheduled install to 4/7-4/9/16 (3 days). This job was always scheduled for 3 days.We communicate regularly...

with our crews via phone throughout the day to insure that they are on schedule with their jobs.Installation of 701 sqft of locking wood: A normal crew installs an average of 400 sqft per day of locking wood by itself. This job actually could have taken 4 days with all the take up and additional floor prep that was done. However, the crew out there was fast and finished the job in 3 days, as scheduled. 1st day: Take up (431 sqft of laminate, 37 sqft of Carpet, 43 sqft of Tile, and 165 sqft of glue down vinyl), move 2 rooms of furniture plus 2 appliances, and 8 bags of Floor Prep. The Floor Prep needed to dry overnight per installation guidelines, before starting to install the wood. (2 crew members on Job site)2nd day: 9 ft of undercutting. Start installing locking wood. (2 crew members on Job site) 3rd day: Finish installation of locking wood. Also, 270 lf of quarter round and caulking; and, install all transitions. Customer also decided to change the quarter round color and the crew had to go back to the store to exchange the original product for the customer. Replace 2 rooms of furniture, plus 2 appliances. Cleaned up from installation. Customer signed COC job completed on 4/9/16. (2 crew members on Job site) On 4/12/16 Received W/O: 1 transition has glue on it, 1 has an end that is popping up and a 3rd has a little jagged cut. Customer can only do Saturdays. W/O Scheduled for Saturday, 4/16/16 between 8-11 to arrive. Crew was to go and see if they could fix the transitions. If not, let office know what needs to be ordered. Crew Chief’s son, who was put in ICU on Friday from an accident, took a turn for the worse and had to have 3 lifesaving surgeries on Saturday. Crew Chief did not think to call FDR Office or Staff to let us know W/O would not be done. Crew Chief was not thinking about anything, but his son. FDR Staff was in the office on Saturday morning until 11:00 a.m. And, they did not receive a call from Crew, Customer, or the Store. Staff tried to check on crew, and had to leave a message. Not sure why the customer would say that the number provided just rang, when our office has voice mail on all our telephone numbers. And, there was no message from this customer on it. Store also did not call FDR’s after hour emergency number about there being problem. FDR Office found out about the issue on Monday morning. As soon as FDR Office knew about the issue, we called the customer on Monday to reschedule and give the customer a $25 gift certificate for the inconvenience. We had to leave a message. We called again on Tuesday and got ahold of customer and rescheduled, per customer request, for Saturday, 4/30/16 @ 9:30 a.m. with FDR Field Supervisor. He went out to clean off glue and smudges from a wood surface.  And, he re-glued one transition and taped to hold in place for 24 hours.  He then stained two spots where the finish was missing from edge of cut.  Two thresholds have been ordered, one is at kitchen to garage door and the other is kitchen to back door. Once transitions are received (anticipated 5/16/16), we will call Mrs. [redacted] and schedule, according to her convenience, and the installer will go back out to replace and figure out what is causing the ends to stick up.   Mrs. [redacted] has been informed of this and is fine with it.  Mr. [redacted] has been saying from the start that he is paying too much money for this installation. He states, “the quotes I received XXXX installation charges were the highest.” He tried to negotiate set XXXX’s pricing with the sales representative before the job was even sold.   FDR is a subcontractor for XXXX and has no control of XXXX’s set pricing.
