I would like to begin by explaining Fontaine Cleaners' (hereinafter "store") customer service systemWhen a customer drops off her clothes, she provides the store with a phone numberWe use the phone number as the customer's account numberWe
enter the items that she has dropped off into her account and then provide her with a receiptWhen the customer returns to pick up her items, she is to bring back this receipt so that we can locate the item
According to Ms***, her husband had dropped off the shirt on September The number associated with this drop off was XXX-XXX-XXXX, for this shirtPlease see attached exhibitOn October 5, 2015, Ms*** walked in to the store and aggressively demanded to know where her husband's shirt wasI asked her for her receipt and she said she did not have itI asked her for her phone number and name so I could look up her account numberShe gave me the following number: XXX-XXX-XXXXI typed it into our system, but the number she gave me was for an account that had not been used since When I told her this, she insisted that was the phone number had been provided on September 24thI asked her if she had a different number that she could provide me, and she told me to stop asking her for a different number and said that she has high blood pressureShe also threatened to sue me if I did not resolve her issue immediatelyShe insisted I did not understand her because I could not speak English
Despite her hostility, I tried my best to find a resolutionI told her that if she gave me a description of the shirt, I could check my whole inventory because she had provided an incorrect phone number and she did not have her receiptIt takes up to days for me to check my whole inventory, so I told her this, but she kept demanding that she needed the shirt right thenI reiterated that I am willing to help her by looking through my entire inventory, but I needed at least days to do so, and so if she left a description of her shirt I could search for it later
Despite my repeated offers to search my entire inventory for her husband's shirt, Ms*** kept reiterating that the reason I was unable to find her shirt was because I cannot speak EnglishShe said that I should go back to school and learn EnglishI found this to be offensive because I have run small businesses in the United States for the past yearsMs*** kept insisting that I better go back to school and learn EnglishI started feeling dizzy as a result of her verbal diatribe and I fainted
While I was lying on the floor, Ms*** grabbed my shoulder and told me to get up and find her shirtI told her to just leave me a description of her shirt, and tried to explain once again that I would look for it in my inventoryMs*** finally wrote down a description of her shirt and two phone numbers: XXX-XXX-XXXX and XXX-XXX-XXXXNeither of these phone numbers match the phone number she had provided when she brought in the shirtPlease see attached exhibit again for the numbers she had leftI asked her for the associated name for the account, in which she said *** ***, and then she left
On October 15, 2015, after I looked through the store's inventory, I contacted Ms***I let her know that I had located her shirtIt was under a different telephone number and nameOn October 17, 2015, she came to the store to pick up her shirtI explained to her that she had provided me with an incorrect phone numberIn response, Ms*** said that "I better watch out" because she would make sure my store loses customersWhen I told her to please leave, she tried to intimidate me by threatening to slander my business all over the internetI asked Ms*** again to please just leave so that she would stop making a commotion in my store
Ms***' racist verbal attacks, intimidation, and accusations were uncalled forIn sum, she had no receipt, provided me the wrong telephone number and name, and filed this specious complaint with the Revdex.com
I sincerely believe that the complaint here was not based on a language barrierInstead, this complaint is rooted in Ms***' prejudice and lack of racial sensitivity
In her complaint, Ms*** calls me an "Oriental." She also writes that she "suggested that I should go back to school and learn English." Furthermore, Ms*** writes that she "asked what language I spoke so she could have a translator." She concludes by expressing that she "wants me to understand that itssic unhealthy and costly to do business in the United States without learning the English language properly."
Not only have I resolved the matter with Ms***, I have timely responded to her complaintI hope that this response and attached exhibit provides clarification for the Revdex.com
