Review: I took silk sweater to Formprest Cleaners to have small stains on back removed. When I picked up the sweater there was a stain on the left sleeve on it that was not there before. The clerk will attest to that.Desired Settlement: I really would like to have my sweater in the condition that I took it to Formprest.But since I can't, I am asking for $40.00 and the return of the cleaning cost due to added stain that they made. I took my sweater to another cleaner and ask if they could tell me what happened and I was told just what I suspected it was from iron or pressed hard on sleeve and discolored. I was given a written note from [redacted] cleaners to verify condition of my sweater, I worked 3yrs for a [redacted] cleaners.

This is my rebuttal to Formprest. ID#[redacted]

I dropped my sweater off at Formprest Cleaners on 10-21-13 and asked clerk to prespot sweater on the back. The clerk gave me an invoice

with those instructions. I picked up my sweater on 10-26-13 and dropped it off at my house on my way out of town. I took the sweater out of the plastic on Fri 11-1-13. Much to my surprise, not only was the stain on the back still there, but now there was a stain on my

sleeve. I can accept the stain on the back, but what I can not accept is the stain on the sleeve that Formprest placed there.

The release signed is for a stain on the back of sweater not the one the cleaners put on the sleeve.

I took the sweater to Formprest on Sat 11-2-13 and picked it up on 11-6-13. The stain was still there. On 11-7-13 I went to the main store to speak with owner. I showed [redacted] my sweater and tried to explain that the stain on my sleeve wasn’t there when I dropped it off

on10-21-13. She became defensive and rude. I am not a customer of [redacted] cleaners nor have I ever been a customer. I simply asked them for a professional opinion.

I was a counter clerk at [redacted] Cleaner and I was taught how to look for malfunctions on garments such as SPOTS, discoloration and missing buttons, etc. Formprest noted that most of the time cleaners don’t put stains on clothes. Well I beg to differ, and being a counter clerk I’ve seen it all. You send out a garment marked “stains on left back sleeve”; it comes back with additional stains. It happens!

We’re human. I just want them to take responsibility for their mistake. I like my sweater and Macy’s no longer has it in the store. I am willing to see if a third cleaning would remove the stain from my sleeve and if not, the cost of my sweater and the cleaning will be required. I will only speak with **. This is my second rebuttal to Formprest.

Here's a copy of the invoice stated by the desk clerk that the stain wasn't on my sleeve when I brought the sweater in to be cleaned. I know that if I get $40.00 & $6.50 for cost of cleaning the sweater, that the sweater becomes the property of Formprest cleaners. Even with written proof the cleaners is not owning up to their mistake. If Formprest can clean my sweater sleeve, I am willing to close the case. If not, then I expect to be compensated in the sum of $46.50. The stain wasn't cleaned on the back and there was an additional stain on the sleeve. Formprest has never contacted me to resolve this issue.
