Review: Complaint Reason: misleading advertising, obnoxious customer customer, vindictive [redacted] who charged our credit cards but denied us service. On May **, 2014, I received an email from Club Freetime advertising an event I was interested in attending. In order to buy tickets, I must first buy a membership to the site, which can be done on weekly, monthly, quarterly, or annual basis. I chose the monthly membership, bought 2 tickets, and noticed in a confirmation email that my account was set up on automatic renewal (Exhibit. Since I've had bad experiences with internet subscription services in the past that charge my credit card without permission this way, I went in to change that setting on my account. Nothing on that "cancel future automatic renewal" screen ever mentioned changes to your existing ticket purchase privilege, but as soon as I hit cancel, immediately I couldn't buy any more tickets.Totally confused by all this, I reached out to customer service by email and asked what happened (Exhibit B). Long story short, the [redacted], was extremely rude, refused to listen or do anything to restore my original account even though I just opened it less than 30 minutes prior. Incredible consumer abuse in this day and age!Following her last reply, I noticed an inability to access my Club Freetime account on my computer. One day later, my husband, who wanted to attend another event on that site, logged in from my account on his iPhone, upgraded to an annual membership on his credit card to purchase the tickets, and was greeted by a "Your CFT Deal reservation privileges have been suspended as you have abused our customer service" message. (Exhibit C). Meanwhile, we received a "Welcome back to Club Freetime" email telling us that our membership now lasts until May **, 2015. (Exhibit D)All absurdity aside, one thing remains certain, [redacted] charged our credit cards twice (1 monthly and 1 annual membership) but denied us service for what we paid for. Her actions are illegal.Desired Settlement: I would like my original service plan back (the one I signed up for on May [redacted] on monthly basis, but with renewal/upgrade plans to be determined by me) and charges to my husband's card refunded. How can a business force a customer to renew automatically in order to have ticket reservation privileges when that's not written anywhere? And why offer these different membership durations if only the annual membership lets you order ticket?

Response:

The problem was the result of misunderstanding and the complaint to Revdex.com was premature. As part of the resolution, we provided the customer with a free year of service.

Please note that the issue was resolved BEFORE we received notice of this Revdex.com complaint.

Response:

Dear Hassan,

Thank you for your intervention. The vendor responded to my husband 3 days after our last exchange and offered to resolve this matter.

Best regards,
