Freestate Investigations

Review: I hired **. [redacted]. of Freestate Investigations to serve legal papers on a defendant within a specified time period. After receiving a payment ($65) via credit card, **. [redacted] did not return any phone calls or e-mails that I sent to him in my effort to check on the status of his work. The only time I received a written response from him was when I said that I would dispute the charge with my credit card company ([redacted]) for failure to deliver on his services. Only after I contacted him, did an associate of **. [redacted] (named [redacted]) inform me that they were unable to serve the defendant. [redacted] assured me that I would receive a signed affidavit that unsuccessful attempts were made by them to serve the legal papers, and that I would receive a copy of the affidavit by mail. After waiting a week and not receiving any paperwork, I e-mailed **. [redacted] who said he would check with [redacted] and get back to me. But nobody ever got back to me.

To be clear, I'm not upset that Freestate Investigations was unable to serve my defendant, as this tends to happen in the processing-serving business. What I am unhappy with is that this company did not return multiple email or phone calls (about ten). Moreover, I never received the affidavit I was promised. As such, I have absolutely no proof that this company did anything except to charge me $65.Desired Settlement: Even if they provided me with the product (i.e., the affidavit), it's too late at this point because it would be worthless now, as I needed it a week ago. So the second best thing would be for them to improve their business practices, hire some people that are much better at customer service, and refund my charge for services NOT rendered ($65). NOTE: I have already begun the process with [redacted] to dispute this charge.
