Yes, my complaint is in Easley, SC. I lived there in 2017.

Workout Anytime has continued to withdraw funds from my account on January 12th in the amount of $29 (which was never an agreed upon price for anything at their facility). They also withdrew funds on December 26th in the amount of $25 as well as $16.50 on January 2nd.

My name is J[redacted] Y[redacted] and I am the General Manager of the Easley Workout Anytime Gym. I spoke with G[redacted] on 1/5/18 regarding his complaint. I could see in the files that his wife joined with one of our staff (M[redacted]) and G[redacted] then join...

with another (R[redacted] Mc). G[redacted]'s wife was the member who called on 6/20/17. The notes indicated that she choose to freeze he and G[redacted]'s memberships and choose 6 months as the time frame. M[redacted] made notes in both members files at that time. The member (wife) was aware that at the end of the 6 months she choose that the membership would then be reactivated and therefore draft for that next months dues. The draft of dues was what prompted G[redacted] to call. He through they had cancelled. He then went on to tell me about issues he had with a staff person (R[redacted] Mc). She is no longer with us. G[redacted] and I spoke about R[redacted] and I explained she was no longer with us (was let go) and that had he brought that to my attention I would have addressed it immediately. (I am in the gym 6 days per week and easily accessible by phone as well.) I told G[redacted] that I could indeed cancel their memberships out and I could honor the December 2017 draft as their last one (since the policy is a 30 day notice, they normally should have paid for the January 18 draft). I also told him that I would waive one of the cancellation fees ($29 is the cancel fee). Our Memberships are month to month contracts that can be cancelled with a 30 day notice (paying one more month dues upon that notice) and a $29 cancel fee (policy was effective 11/1/2015 at the Easley club). This is explained to all members when they join as is in the contract agreement they sign. I made notes in both their accounts after speaking with G[redacted] and did set up both memberships to cancel per what I had explained to him in our conversation. He hung up on me after that. With what I waived for him and was able to get honored for their final months draft, I actually saved him $73. from what he would paid to cancel per the policy based on his actual date of notifying us on 1/5/18. I have attached a copy of his Membership contract agreement showing 30 day notice for cancellations and cancel fee details (on second page). Please let me know if you need anything else. Thank-you. J[redacted] Y[redacted], General Manager 864.[redacted].[redacted]

In regards to this complaint ... at Workout Anytime, we have very detailed documentation on all conversations, account changes etc that take place through our staff AND through the representatives of [redacted] Financial, who handle the membership drafts. I could see clearly where [redacted] had...

requested to freeze her membership for 6 months back on 5/29/14. When frozen, it was explained to her what to expect as far as it automatically coming out of the freeze and her options. She came out of freeze on 1/2/15 and was charged her normal monthly membership dues as anticipated. This apparent generated a call from her to [redacted]. She claimed that she had wanted to cancel her membership. [redacted] goes by the book in regards to their policy for a 30 day written notice required to do that. They set her up to cancel per her request. This meant that she would have one more draft on 2/2/15. After it was drafted, she disputed it with her bank. It was obvious from the detailed notes that we have, that she was confused or did not remember what she was told abut the policies & procedures. IF she had contacted the gym directly, we would have the authority to bi-pass the 30 day notice. What I have done today to help her is this .... I called [redacted] Financial and asked them to waive her 2/2/14 draft so that t does not go to collections since they were in the right in changing it. I confirmed that she has been cancelled out and that her account it caught up. I have called her to let her know that she WAS responsible for the 2/2/14 draft, BUT that I made an acceptation for her and had it waived. I told her I was responding to her Revdex.com complaint to be sure she knew that we DID have all of the documentation to prove that everything was done correctly according to policy and the membership agreement she signed. I told her that in the future, if she returns to the gym, she needs to be sure that if she has any questions, that she contact us at the gym directly since we have the authority to assist her in a greater capacity than [redacted] Financial will have based on policy. She was happy that we were able to go above and beyond to assist her. If you have any additional questions or need a copy of the transcript of notes on her account, please let me know.
Sincerely,
[redacted]
