Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:
They mentioned that they had phoned me numerous times on the dates listed in the responseI deny this as being untrue because I am home all the timeSometimes when I get an annominous[sp?] phone call it might not get answered because of eating a meal at that timeIf caller id'd him/her self on my ansereing machine I would return the callI had discussed the additional expense with the representative and thought the issue had ben resolved.I wasn't aware of the problem until I called to find out when instaltion would startThe general manager took my call and told me about the problemThis company is not honest and caring as far as customer satisfactionThe items mentioned in their response are lies and untruthsI want this information posted on their record as me being very disappointed.
Sincerely,

[redacted] expressed an interest in obtaining solar for his home and met with an energy consultant on June 22nd. A recommendation made by the consultant as to the number of panels needed to offset the desired amount of [redacted]’s current electric bill.  [redacted] was unable to obtain financing in an...

amount equal to the cost of the system.  The number of solar panels was reduced to meet the confines of [redacted]’s budget.  The contract was signed on June 22nd and a free site survey was scheduled for June 25th.  A site survey is where a trained technician goes to the home measures the roof to ensure the solar panels can fit in the location desired by the customer.  The technician will also document rafters, trusses, and roof supports for analysis by a licensed engineer.  They also inspect and verify that the existing electrical system in the home including the main electric panel is up to code and adequate for the addition of solar panels.  It was during this free inspection that the technician examined [redacted]’s main electric panel (where the breakers are located) and found that the size of the existing main electric panel was too small for the addition of solar panels to the home and would need to be modified.  Furthermore, it was a Zinsco brand all in one split-buss panel.  This panel is known to malfunction mainly by arcing and in some cases, may start a fire.  The company that makes the main electric panel is out of business and some insurance companies will not insure a home if they are aware of its presence. This information was communicated by the energy consultant via phone to [redacted].  [redacted] expressed that he was not inclined or able to come up with anymore funding for this project.  They agreed to meet at a later date to see if more funding could be obtained and a resolution to the situation found.  On July 30th our office reached out to [redacted] and he expressed his concern about additional costs relating to the change in scope of the project.  He was reassured that no changes to the cost of the project could be made without his expressed written permission. The local consultant stopped by to speak with [redacted] about a possible solution on July 7th. There was no answer at the door. In anticipation of an acceptable change in funding an email was sent out July 12th requesting required documentation.  No response by the customer. Visits to the home on July 11th and July 16th also received no answer at the door.  Phone calls placed on July 19th, 22nd, and 28th were not answered. No response to the message left on his answering machine on July 28th.  At this point we stopped contacting [redacted] and assumed that after nearly a month and after 7 attempts at contacting [redacted], that he was avoiding us and had decided not to pursue solar.  This happens from time to time.   Even though we have expenses related to the job due to the site survey and multiple employees time spent reaching out to [redacted], we have never invoiced [redacted], nor do we plan to.  The scope of the project changed and according to the contract signed by both parties these changes need to be ratified in writing by both parties.  We wish [redacted] good luck in his pursuit of going green and if he is insistent that he work with us we will gladly entertain his business.
