Review: Received a cold call on my home phone. I have had no prior contact/business with this company. I have been on the Do Not Call (DNC) Registry for years, and yes, I check frequently and renew at the expiration. My number is still on the list. I do not need foundation work and never fill out such requests in person or on line.

Caller told me number was provided by a 3rd party. I'm disappointed they apparently hired a company that does not scrub the list against the DNC Registry. On the plus side, the caller was mostly polite and offered to "remove" me from the list.

Is there any reason they should not be reported to the FCC for enforcement?Desired Settlement: Follow the law, make sure your vendors follow the law.

Response:

G.L. Hunt would like to apologize for [redacted] being contacted through our call center. We strive to cleanse our calls of all people register on the DNC Registry. Unfortunately, every now and then one gets through. [redacted]'s name has been removed from our lists and he will not be contacted again. It is nice to know that the caller was polite and offered to remove him from the list. Be assured there is no need to report this incident to the FCC. Thank you.

Review: I have noticed your recent advertisement in the Fort Worth Star Telegram. I wonder if

this is not fictitious as well as false advertisement.. In our case you did not perform

proper foundation repair, as our foundation was never stabilized as per our contract. Your

soil injection stabilization was the pouring of soapy water into the hole. Your company's

answer to your lifetime warranty is to ignore it completely.

If you refer to my letters of August 25, 2009 and January 18, 20 I0 I advised you that the

work was not done properly. Shortly after the work was supposedly completed the wall

developed the same cracks that were present before your foundation work. Your

company's answer was to just mortar the cracks for the second time.

When you company contracted to repair the foundation there were two small cracks and

eight broken bricks. Now we have two major and one small crack with dozens of cracked

bricks that now must be replaced. The major crack has an opening, at the top on the brick

line, of one-quarter (Y4) inch or more. Four photographs ofthe damage that now exists to

the side of our home are enclosed.

Your company has ignored my repeated telephone calls. I was given the promise that

someone would call me to make an appointment to inspect our house and your faulty

work. The promised telephone call and inspection has never happened. I now wonder if

your warranty is worth the paper it is written on.

If I do not have a response to this letter in ten (10) days I will file a grievance with the

Attorney Generals office under the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices - Consumer

Protection Act. In addition, I will have my home fixed and then have my attorney file suit

for recovery. I do not like paying attorneys fee's but you leave me know other recourse.

I hope that this letter reach's the proper party and that a proper response is forth coming.

With a proper response, the above course of action can be avoided. It is an action that I

think we both should avoid if at all possible.

Response:

I am more than happy to set up [redacted] with a time for the crew to come back out and fix the repairs he is requesting. I have called and left 2 messages with him. If he wants to call the office I can confirm a good time for us to come out.

Review: On 07-23-2012 I signed an agreement to have foundation repairs done on my home and to have 120 feet of guttering put on the north and south sides of my home. The foundation repairs were done within a few days. As of this date the guttering has not been installed. Due to the death of my mother about two weeks later I did not follow up on the installation. As we were preparing to do work on our home my husband and I remembered the guttering still needed to be installed. When I contacted GL Hunt to question their failure to do the service, I was told that the man who installed guttering for them is "old" and probably forgot. I waited two additional weeks with no contact from the installer. My husband and I decided to have someone else instal the guttering. I have requested a refund of the $1,200.00 three times with no success.Desired Settlement: We would like a refund of the $1,200.00 we have paid.

Response:

Do to a death in my family I have not been in the office for 2 weeks. I do apologize for the gutters not being installed when we originally did the work. I have spoken to the man who installs our gutters and we will definitely be more diligent about installation from the moment work has been performed. As for contacting the office for payment. I am the only one who can issue payments in the office. I am sorry that anyone else represented they could do so. I spoke with the assistant last week about the issue and knew I would be coming back to handle it this week. I did not realize no contact was made to [redacted] regarding the payment processing. I already left a message on [redacted] voicemail regarding the issue. I am issuing the payment today and as soon as the signer of the check comes into the office I will put it in the mail...I sincerely regret that [redacted] had to put up with so much for gutters to be installed on her home.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Review: Three years ago I needed to select a foundation repair company to work on our home. We hadseveral small cracks, but the big problem was we could not close the front door. I did research bytalking to neighbors, checking Web sites, and looking at the Revdex.com reports. Based on that research, Iselected G. L Hunt to work on our home. They had an A+ rating, had been in business since 1987, andwere family owned.Since that first work, they have had to come back twice to rework the initial work, and add newsupports. After the third work, done in Nov. 2014, we discovered our sewer line had been broken, andseveral shrubs gave up after being dug up three times. The contract made G. L. Hunt not responsible foreither of these problems. We did have to have the front bathroom jackhammered up and a new sewerline installed. Also after the third work we discovered our sprinkler system was not working. Several wireshad been cut when Hunt dug a hole. I called and was assured that G. L. Hunt wanted to fix thisproblem. I was given a choice of having their man fix it, or using my regular sprinkler company. Since;my man had installed the system, I felt he knew more about it. After he did the work, I mailed a copy ofthe invoice, as I had been instructed to get reimbursed. After a couple of weeks I called about the reimbursement. I was transferred to Mr. HaydenHunt who said they had not received the invoice. He asked me to e-mail a copy, and he would call meback TOMORROW. I sent the e-mail.When he did not call back after 3-4 days, I called again to learn he was on the phone. I left myname and number. After another 3-4 day wait, I called again to learn Mr. Hunt was in a meeting.Again, I left my name and number. On Mar. 13 I called again. Mr. Hunt was not available. Later however, his secretary called andstated that the check was in the mail, and should arrive that day or the next. The check has not yetarrived.I am retired, but during my working career I had many years experience in Senior Management, including the last 18 as company President. During that time I learned to understand that people makemistakes. What I could not tolerate however, were people not telling the truth. Mr. Hunt has lied to metwice.I do not know what Revdex.com criteria is for their recommendations, but I would hope managementhonesty would be a factor.

Business

Response:

GL Hunt Co., Inc., as a company takes our customers' satisfaction very seriously. We have researched the reimbursement check Mr. [redacted] was referring to and found that on 3/10/15 we issued check #2501 in the amount of $332.00. This check cleared on 3/16/15. Unfortunately, our bookkeeper apparently erroneously issued the check to the wrong customer (also named [redacted]). We have issued a replacement check (check #[redacted]) for Mr. [redacted] and this check has already been picked up by our postman. We regret this mix up but would like to assure Mr. [redacted] that at no time has there been an attempt (intentionally or covertly) to be dishonest with him. We certainly do understand his skepticism when so much time has lapsed and he did not receive the reimbursement. Copies of all documents are attached to this response.

When was the last time you had a company owner/CEO sit down at your kitchen table, look you in the eyes, and state their sincere commitment to resolve your concern and remain involved "through to the end" AND make good on that commitment? Gary Hunt and GL Hunt Codid this for meI am writing to attest to their website statements that "customer satisfaction is our priority" and to confirm their commitment to the "lifetime transferable warranty."
I confidently purchased a home that had prior GL Hunt foundation repairs due to the company's reputation and lifetime transferable warrantyI was hoping to never have more foundation problems, but with a clay soil lot and the Texas summer heat/drought, I learned otherwiseMy new foundation problems were severe and unusual, appearing to need more than just warranty work on existing piersGL Hunt worked with me to rule out a plumbing leak or other underground water problems, obtain a structural engineering opinion, and installed a quality drip irrigation system around the foundationUltimately, seasonal cooler temperatures and rainfall brought the foundation back into alignmentGL Hunt was ready to perform all warranty work but all of this was done to try to avoid costly additional foundation repairsMrHunt's primary interest was a long-term solution and my long-term customer satisfaction, over putting more money in his pocket with additional repairsThis was a remarkable, exceptional experience that I must share

Review: My house came with a Lifetime Tranferable Warranty for foundation repair from GL Hunt when I purchased it. In the past, Hunt has completed the warranty work twice in the 12 years I've lived here when the foundation has settled or moved. I called Hunt 3 weeks ago because there are 2 inch cracks between the brick and woodwork. I was told they now work with Dalworth Plumbing and they send out plumbers to check for leaks before they will do any warranty work. Guess what? Dalworth said I have a very slow leak and my appt. with the Hunt co. was cancelled immediately without even talking to me. The place where I needed work done is not remotely close to my wastewater pipes. But they will not send out a representative to even look at the area in question. This is not how the warranty worked in the past and they are not upholding their written agreement.Desired Settlement: come out and do the warranty work.

After researching Ms. [redacted] complaint it appears there may be a slight misunderstanding in our policy, our warranty and the message that was left for Ms. [redacted]
