Review: I bought a car from Gaughan auto in [redacted],pa [redacted] in December of 2013, I didnt know until later that I was over charged for a 2011 for [redacted] hybrid, I just recently found out my car is only worth between 7,000 and 9,000, gary from gaughan charged me 15,000, I learned this when I tried to trade the [redacted] in bc it had 94,000 miles on it and no warrenty.I went to three [redacted] dealers and [redacted] and [redacted] was the business that told me that the guy that sold me the car was actually fired from [redacted] for selling cars higher then the car was worth and pocketing money, no I am not 100% sure that its true, but I would highly appreciate it being checked out ,Desired Settlement: I would like the car returned, loan payed off, and money for mental, emotional stress for not being able to get a car that is kid friendly, thank you for your time and patience.

Re: Complaint [redacted]

Dear Sir or Madam,

In response to [redacted]’s complaint, we are confident the 2011 [redacted] Hybrid she purchased was sold to her at fair market value at the time of sale. The selling price was $14500.00 less a 2011 [redacted] trade allowance of $12400.00. This trade allowance was over the fair market value of $10500.00 to allow the full payoff of the trade to be made of $12396.09 on her behalf.

Most automobiles lose value due to depreciation as time passes, time of the year it is sold and/or mileage accumulation.

The 2011 [redacted] Hybrid, at the time of the sale, was the top family car and one of the best fuel economy vehicles in its class.

We are sorry if [redacted] has been misled by other dealerships trying to obtain her business and that she is upset with our dealership.

If there is anything we can do to help her understand her accumulated negative equity in her trade please contact us.

Thank you,

Michael G[redacted]

Review: We purchased a SUV ( aug 2012 ) and before buying it there were a few things that needed to be done which both parties agreed on which were, adding a hitch and wiring system, underneath the grill to be replaced ( flash guard ), and painting around the area of the gas tank. When it was all done we went and picked up the SUV within 2 days of having the truck the paint work was all bubbled called them back spoke to [redacted] ( at the time that was the service manager ) and [redacted] ( assistant manager ). We brought it in to be fixed and they said to hold off until it gets warmer. We kept in touch periodically with them so they wouldn't forget about us. Spring came and we were still dealing with [redacted] and [redacted], they kept telling us that they were busy and that the guy who paints ( [redacted] ) was backed up. Meanwhile in between all of this the truck broke down a few times first time it was the TBS ( throttle body sensor ), they fixed it. A few weeks later it broke down again where we had to have the truck towed back ( 2 hours away ). Again , it was the TBS. They claimed it was faulty. They repaired it. Meanwhile we kept asking when the paint job was going to be repaired, [redacted] informed us that [redacted] was no longer there, and then he would take care of it with the new service manager and to call back in a few days. Called back a few days later to find out that [redacted] was leaving and he never told [redacted] ( the new service manager ) any history. [redacted] said to call him back on the following week so he could look up our history. When we called him back he saw everything ( how they claimed that there were spiders nest in the gas tank { which he laughed }, tbs, paint job, no heat, dvd not working and wire harness for the hitch not installed properly , also from previous purchase of another SUV how the heat didn't work nor did the air ) he told us he was going to speak the owner, [redacted] to see how he can get this fixed. Needless to say, [redacted] wouldn't agree to this being fixed. We spoke to [redacted] again this morning 9/26/13 and said that his hands were tied and that [redacted] wasn't budging.

Response:

Please except our response for the above complaint from [redacted] . Previous notices were infact mishandled due to our internet security.

Unfortunately, [redacted]'s vehicle had a transmission issue. We are very sorry for the inconvenience to our valued customer.

We did not realize the warranty company protecting her investment had a protocal on the approval of the transmission . They needed time to send out

an inspector to drive and then approve the claim.

We are very sorry again but we feel [redacted]s desired outcome has been met and the vehicle is back in great condition.

Review: I have purchased a vehicle for not only far more than it was worth, but has mechanical issues that make the vehicle unsafe for me and my child. Ive tried several times to have the dealership check and or fix my vehicle, and everytime they have said there was nothing wrong. The transmission needs new fluid every month, and if not the transmission continues to shake and rattle. Time and time again I have brought it back to Gaughans and to no avail. Ive also tried numerous times to trade in my vehicle, everytime to be told I owe far too much than my car is worth. This vehicle is unsafe for my and espically to have my child in. The dealership also had me cancel my current Gap Insurance telling me they provided their own. They infact do NOT offer any type of insurance or warrenty, so when and if my transmission goes, Im stuck paying for a vehicle for YEARS to come.Desired Settlement: Refund and/or buy back vehicle.

11/3/2014Dear [redacted]We are sorry for this miscommunication with our customer [redacted].Our files show on March 16, 2011 [redacted] bought a [redacted] and traded a [redacted]. On the buyers order provided you will see her trade vehicle had negative equity of $5559.83. The actual cost for the vehicle she purchased was $16988.00 and that was 3 years ago which was below fair market value at the time.As far as [redacted] insurance and warranty we offer every customer [redacted] Insurance and Extended Warranty plans. We would never tell someone to cancel any insurance especially in this circumstance. Our files show we included a 3 month/ 4000 mile warranty. Regardless of the miscomunication if we can help we would like to do a complete inspection and complimentary oil change and finally access the vehicle. We feel strongly about helping our customers in any way we can after the sale and after any and all warranties expire.Thank you,Michael G.Co owner
