I have mold on my bathroom roof. I have called the leasing office not to long ago with complaining that I had mold on my roof in my restroom. They sent out a worker who only painted over the mold. I have a 6 month old baby I don't want to live any where that has mold that can make me, her and my girlfriend sick. Today I woke up and went to the rest room and I look up at the roof and the mold was back.(june 26 15) I called the leasing office at 9:21 am and its now 12:47 p.m. and no one has came out to check on the mold. I feel that they don't care and I need to move before my daughter gets sick. Desired SettlementLease brokenBusiness Response Contact Name and Title: [redacted]Contact Phone: XXXXXXXXXXContact Email: [redacted]apt ceiling was examinemd on Friday July 26 and it was determined that it is not mold. It was a old brown water stain. Resident was informed that a contractor would be out on monday the 29th to cut out the ceiling in the bathroom in order to satisfy the resident.Ceiling in the bathroom was cut on on Monday the 29th and pictures were taken throughout the entire process. Further investigation detected no presence of mold. The ceiling has been replaced and full repair was completed on 6/29. resident signed off on the work order as completed and satisfied-Resident has been advised that the lease can be terminated according to the terms provided for in the lease agreement. I have consulted with my regional manager and corporate office to confirm this response and it is final. All service requsts have been and will continue to be responded to in a timely manner until the issue or concern has been resolved.

Billed for repairs, that are normal wear and tear.I lived in Germantown Falls for almost 5 years,in July of this year I decided to move because of increase of rent, upon inspection of the apartment,I was told that I had to pay 445.85 for counter tops that had to be stripped and done over, these are wooden counter tops that are painted yellow with a clear coat on top of them, this is normal wear and tear from being there for almost 5 yrs,and this is paint that peels off after the counter tops have been clean so many times ,and I refuse to pay them that amount of money for normal wear and tear, they did not give me my deposit back, which was 250.00,and I was told that I still owe them a balance of 195.82,which is ridiculous,I will not pay this amount of money for normal wear and tear, and I was told that when someone moves out the counter top are normally done over anyway.Desired SettlementI want a refund of 250.00.Business Response Contact Name and Title: [redacted]Contact Phone: XXX-XXX-XXXXContact Email: [redacted]Resident did live here for 5 years. Resident had the option to be present for a move out inspection of the premises.Damage to countertops from misuse does not constitute normal wear and tear. Photos are available for the resident to view of the damages. Countertops do not have to be resurfaced after each move out unless they have been damaged. Resident was not charged for any other damages in the apartment home.Final Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)It was from normal wear and tear, and I didn't do the walk through, because I have my own personal photos of the apartment, and if they decide not to give me my refund than I will file a claim against them in small claims ccourt.

TN state law requires a 30 day notice not a 60 day notice, My contract ends March 14, 2015 and they are making stay till April.TN state law requires a 30 day notice not a 60 day notice, My contract ends March 14, 2015 and they are making stay till April. Am suppose to be half of March and they are charging me $700 for March instead of $588 my regular rent and about $400 for April, When my contract ends on March 14 ,2015 if I don't they will charge me as if am breaking the contract but how if my contract ends on 03/14/2015.Desired SettlementI just want to end my contract on the day I agreed to not pay a whole month and half another that's $1000.00 more which I cannot afford with a part time job.Business Response Contact Name and Title: [redacted]- ManagerContact Phone: 901[redacted]Contact Email: [redacted]@northland.comLease contract is a [redacted] Lease agreement that clearly states in paragraph 3- page 1 that a 60 day notice is required to vacate prior to the end of the lease term expiration date. This lease agreement is a binding contract that has been signed by the complaintant. The only time that TN State Law requires a 30 day notice to vacate is when the initial lease term has expired and the lease is then in a month to month status. The terms of the executed lease contract will stand and the resident will be held to the terms of the contract she signed.

I have had several issues dealing with my apartment, garbage thrown by my apartment, door not being fixed on time,I have noticed mold coming into apartment and to top that off sewer water backing into my tub have spoken with leasing office on several occasions the inconvience of taking a bath this has caused unsanitary conditions not only for me but for my child, they want do anything far as reducing my rent, they are not taking responsibility on their part, I want these issues solved once and for all, I have rights as a renter also, these issues have lead me to file a complaint next step to contact channel 3 if it's not resolvedDesired Settlementthey either need to lower my rent this month or find a solution to this problem, im renting if I hold up my end they should hold up theirsBusiness Response After reviewing [redacted]'s work order history, all work orders subnitted were completed on the same day they were called in or within 24 hours of initial notification. [redacted] expressed that she is just frustrated with having to call in any service requests of any nature. Unfortunately there is nothing that can be done to prevent things from breaking or needing service. We will continue to provide effective and efficient resolutions to any and all future matters as they might arise.

I HAVE COMPLAINED FOR 2 YEARS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM, BUT NO ONE SEEMS TO GET IT DONE. I have called for many weeks for a serious rodent problem and I still to this day have rodents in my ceiling and I can not get sleep and it is not becoming unhealthy for me. My neighbors have notice the big hole in the front of the building and they are stating they are setting traps and catching rodents, but I can't tell as it sounds like grown humans are In my roof and about to fall through. If they fall through the ceiling and bite me, I will sue. Maintanance keep stating they are putting down [redacted] but it Is not working and the hole In from of the building Is still open. This apartments are 41 years old and we are being charged for up to date new apartments and these apartments are not even on that level. I have been here 5 years and the last 2 years have been my unhappiest.Desired SettlementA hired and trained and professional company to come and get the rodents our of the ceilings and the hole in the front of the building closed up and repaired to where it can not be opened by rodents again. Business Response Our community was built in 1989. Some of our apartment homes do experience stress cracks in the walls due to settling which is not uncommon. As soon as a resident notifies management that they are experiencing these issues, repairs are scheduled. This community backs up to open fields that do contain wildlife. Traps are placed throughout the community in order to remove all wildlife every time management is notified. It has been our experience that when we close up the points of entry before we have captured and removed all wildlife from the attics, they have been known to chew through electrical, heat and hvac ducts and in some cases have actually chewed through the drywall in order to be able to escape these enclosed areas. This is why we prefer not to close these areas before hand. Upon your request we have closed these areas and we have employed [redacted] to set traps in the attic. We will continue to monitor the traps on the exterior of the building as well as those set in the attics in the hopes that a satisfactory resolution can be reached by all parties involved. Consumer Response The rodent problem is fixed, but the building still have a hole where they entered. My other problem is that the entry gate has been broken or not working for a couple of months and still not working. We have gotten numerious of letters stated people cars broken in and robberies and breakins. I just want out of my lease with a letter stating that I am releaved from my lease. It is becoming unsafe to live at [redacted] @ [redacted]. Final Business Response [redacted] no longer resides in this community-There will be no further responses to his complaints or concerns as management has made every possible effort to satisfy his concerns while he was a resident here at this community.Thank you

[redacted]UNSAFE[redacted] Do not move to these apartments!!! I have been a resident for 2 years, and there have been several armed robberies, dozens of vehicles burglarized, and gunshots fired on apartment grounds frequently. My vehicle has been broke into 3 times, lease is up next month, and will be moving out and warning others of this place. They spend money making the grounds look nice, but the apartments are full of criminals. The only security (besides the gate that is always broken, likely by the criminals who need access), is a rent a cop who makes a few rounds every night with a flashing light on his golf cart, alerting criminals of his presence.","neg-1
