We received a complaint from your Company on 9/26/2014, BB complaint # [redacted] for [redacted].[redacted] was a member then later became an employee. In the case where we hire an existing member we freeze their membership at no charge while they are employed with us as a...

courtesy. We also explain that when they are no longer with us there membership will become unfrozen. Then they will be held to the agreement which they signed up for. Please review the agreement attached, freezing an account is an option we offer to assist our employees and promote health and fitness.However to move forward [redacted] account was cancelled and removed from our collection agency. Also we contacted First Credit Services and had them remove [redacted] from any credit bureau that it was reported to. In the event that there is any more issue’s [redacted] should contact the club directly or call our collection company, First Credit Services at ###-###-####.Thank you for your time and effort in resolving this matter.

Review: Nature of Complaint also- Unauthorized changes to the contract or agreement

I signed a contract and became a member of Gold's Gym then several months later became an employee. I resigned as an employee due to poor management and unethical ways of treating customers and employees. Once I resigned, the manager/owner decided to reinstate a voided contract. Employees do not require a membership contract and receive gym membership as a benefit of employment. My membership contract prior to employment should have been discarded after becoming an employee. Since, the manager/owner was not pleased with my leaving the company, they decided to unethically start charging me for a membership that had been cancelled. I never used this membership upon leaving the company. I did not want to step foot in the gym again. The company turned this over to a collection agency and in turn has adversely affected my previously perfect credit.Desired Settlement: Stop showing this as in collection and delinquent to creditor.

Review: There are several complaint types, only can click one, but addition to complaint type is customer service, services and refund issues as well. I want to file a complaint against Gold Gym Waynesboro at [redacted], Waynesboro, PA [redacted] and [redacted], billing company as I had a conversation with Gold Gym at Waynesboro, Pa and they are supposed to freeze my membership and only charged for $5.00 for March 2013, but they go charging $29.99, which should be only $5.00. I have a telephone conversation with IP Relay and Gold Gym printed out and have a proof that Gold Gym say, they will freeze my membership and only charged $5.00, but not. They are dishonest about it as I notified [redacted] that I did not authorize them to take $24.99, but only $5.00 dollar for March. The bank returned 24.99, and the problem continue as my son [redacted] did called Gold Gym to cancelled membership last week of March as his membership is up a year and do not want to renew membership. They took some money from my bank without my authorized after informed cancelled membership, they did it again, so I decided to close my debit card and get a new one, I have not given out any new debit card information as I just activate one day, and the next day, Gold Gym basically being thief to find a way to take new debit card information without my permission, as my account was blocked for Gold Gym to access to my account first place, yet Gold Gym and [redacted] find a loop around access new card information. [redacted] says, they should not have done that and they seems to find a way to do that cause a lot problem with some Gym merchants and other merchants abuse the practice of this new behavior to access new card information that customers have not given out new information yet. I was told that the debit card is being locked and my account is blocked, so how come Gold Gym did access to my my new card information first place? It is dishonest and thief practice of doing business. I demand the membership to be cancelled and do not owe any balance at all as we did cancelled last week of March. I have a right to cancelled membership after their dishonest agreement and thief practice of business without my authorized on the new card. I decide to wash my hand off dealing business with Gold Gym by cancelled my membership as I have a right to do so, not matter if I did sign contract membership that should end on July 11 2013, as I joined July 11, 2012, the point is they are dishonest and not doing the proper process of business. Whats more, they never did discuss about the cancellation policy with us when we filed the application. We did call and information Gold Gym Waynesboro to cancel our membership. They never tell us that we must do in writing when we called several times.Desired Settlement: I want them to wavier the membership, fees and the balance from March to August 2013. I want to make sure no balance on my name and [redacted] as well. I also, want Gold Gym to process wavier all fees and send a deletion request for each three credit Bureau to erase the trade line on credit history from all three-bureau credit report from [redacted] and [redacted]. Also, a refund $59.49 from August 8, 2013 as the bank told me to get it back from Gold Gym directly.

We received a complaint from your Company on 8/21/2013, BB complaint # [redacted]. This was for [redacted] and [redacted].

In regard to [redacted] complaint regarding a membership freeze that was requested on 3/10/2013, the regular monthly payment was in the process of drafting and could not be stopped. However the customer was reimbursed regardless see complaint filed. Please review the agreements attached, freezing an account is an option we offer to assist our members not a requirement per the agreement.

Neither, [redacted] or [redacted] has ever contacted the club to cancel either account. The agreement requires a 30 day cancellation in writing after the initial term. Please see the auto renew which they both did sign off on when they joined. There is a past due balance due for both accounts see invoice page enclosed. This issue could have been easily settled if [redacted] or [redacted] had contacted the club and wanted to cancel.

To move forward both of their memberships have been cancelled. They have not been sent to a collection agency or any credit bureau. However we cannot honor any request for any refunds. Due to their accounts being past due at this time.
