On 12/28/17 [redacted]-[redacted], who is the manager at Lee's Automotive in Federal Way contacted us to move 4 tool boxes from Kent to Federal Way. We had to send 2 drivers at 2 different occasions to pick and haul these tool boxes. The first driver that was sent out to haul these tool boxes stated...
that he noticed damage ( pre- existing ) damage so he took pictures of the tool boxes. The first driver was unable to pick up and haul all 4 of the tool boxes so we had to send a second driver out to get the last 2. The first driver stated that the condition of the boxes were no different when he completed the job, as they where when he picked them up. The second driver states that when he arrived on scene to move the last two tool boxes he noticed that the teal box with side box was already bent on the bottom of the side box. While rolling the tool box out of the bay and to his truck the handle began to break. As he got the box up to the truck bed he noticed that the handle was falling off from the vibration of pulling the toolbox. He then placed the handle on top of the box. Loading and unloading the box he placed skates under the side box because it hung down and was close to hitting the ground. One of the workers at Lee's Automotive assisted him in unloading to assure the side box didn't get damaged. We offered to replace the handle and to fix any pre-existing damage to the boxes, even though we didn't cause any of the damage except for the handle. Both mechanics said that they just wanted $2500 each in their pockets. So no resolution could be made
Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:The response from Lakewood towing has a few discrepancies to fact First, [redacted] is not the manager of Lee's and has never been in the capacity. Second, Joe from Lakewood admitted liability via text, even went to accounting to get payment figured out. Third, according to the statement of the business damage was done to at minimum the handle on one of the boxes while moving it. I am not required to allow a business to repair physical damage to my property, as a claimant I have the right to have my property repaired anywhere I chose within reasonable expense. That brings up my final point, I discounted the amount seeking for damage not to line my pockets but to be fair to the tow company. All I would like is Lakewood towings insurance company's name so we can settle this. They know they did the damage. I have screenshots of text messages admitting liability. They, to the day, refuse to furnish the information. Let the insurance company decide.
Sincerely,
[redacted]-[redacted]
